That whole sequence last night from play call on 3rd and 10 on was a total abortion for everyone not named Justin Tucker. Millions of dollars paid, 80 hour+ work weeks dedicated to thinking about football, and Harbaugh and Schwartz both go 100% full ****** with their playoff equity.

3rd down run isn't horrible if you have a weak legged kicker and know you're in 2 down territor- oh.

Yes the summary neglects to mention there was over a minute left once the third down run was completed (to called at 40ish secs)

Yeah thats the point, its actually not that absolutely bad if you are always going for it and have a bad offense, 4th and 4-7 is significantly easier to complete than 4th and 10 and the expectation on that draw has gotta be 3-6 yards every time.

4th and 4-7 is way worse than 3rd and 10 though

I got Tucker from 61 as a better plan than Flacco having two chances to convert.

The best part, I think, was that they called an inside handoff to center the kick, instead of trying to gain more yards, or, you know, convert.

If the goal was setting up the kick, shouldn't they have aimed for the other hash, seems like that's what most right footed kickers prefer.

That's like one of many reasons that playcall makes no sense unless they actually were going to go for it and then decided kicking it was a better idea.

I don't get why teams don't seem to have more defined plans for spots like this. It's not like there's so much new in football that you can't have this all figured out before.
