Also it gets annoying when commentators say a team is in fg range when they get to the other team's 41 yard line. Aikman said it today. That's not fg range. That's a fg is theoretically possible but for the love of god you better get more yards range.

Detroit ends up with about 30 seconds. They only needed about 50 to get to the atl 41 just taking what they were given instead of having to push up field. Probably stuck with a hail mary tho. So the penalty really screwed atl (and the delay of game, and the penalty when detroit could've ran the clock out themselves if they didn't rush on the field quick enough) and the lol matt ryan throw, and the whole didn't score anything on offense in the 2nd half.

The decision to pass on third isn't really THAT terrible and I don't see how smith gets blame for his olineman getting called for a hold.

That being said calling a 0 yard flare screen that had no better chance of picking up a first than a run play does but with all the added risk of an incomplete is just mindblowing.

Mike Tomlin just won this thread forever.

EDIT: For those not watching, Tomlin has 4th and 4 from the 33 with 0:35 left in the half. He decides not to use Suisham, which is fine I guess. Instead of just blasting the punt out of the back of the endzone and letting the Colts knee it, he calls a Roethlisberger pooch punt from a 5-yard shotgun formation. The punt is blocked, Luck gets to start from his own 35, and he predictably gets his guys into FG range in 15 seconds.
