I don't feel like looking it up, but there is probably a wiki page on the season. Bagwell was on a bigger tear than Jr. The Expos. etc.

Yankees up 3-1 in the 8th.
Bases loaded 2 outs.
Clay Holmes comes in and promptly gives up a grand slam.

Yankees ended up tying it in the top of the 9th.

Holmes despite.giving up a first batter grand slam was free rolling on getting the win had they took and held the lead in the top of the 9th. He could not get the loss since the go ahead run in the bottom of the 8th wasn't his run.

Pretty hilarious come in give up a GS and you can get the win and can't get the loss.

Also lol@ the last out of the 9th and first out of the 10th made at third for the Yankees
Top tier fundamentals

Pretty sure they kill you in Japan for that

Johnny Bench apologized for a "he was Jewish" joke about a former GM who got inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame.

I wonder what Marge Schott would have said to that?

I've thought of ponying up the dough to watch the Reds myself.

The NL is way way way too clustered, and the only team that can break away from the pack (atlanta) is gonna breakaway regardless and AA is way too smart to **** around with that unless they get him at a steep discount

Nobody in the central is going to chance it. the crads maybe would have but they’re already done

I just don’t see anyone in the west trying. As good as arizona has been they’re still rebuilding and there’s just no way they **** that up by shooting for the moon

The rangers are honestly the only team that makes sense to me. I don’t think they’ll pay what he’s worth but they may get closest just cuz their title equity has to skyrocket with him especially with degrom dedone
Rangers bigly frontrunner per ESPN

Rangers certainly have the trade capital but how much do you give up for a rental? I don't give them much of a chance to sign him to a long term deal. I guess if LAA thinks the same, they wouldn't mind trading him in the division. But if they think they can it could be a road block to the trade.

Not sure how I feel about it without seeing what the trade would look like. If it gets you your first title in franchise history I suppose you bet the farm (system).

Rangers aren't going far even with Ohtani. Their meltdown in 2011 or whenever when Ron Washington left in a pitcher to walk 4 straight guys(?) to lose a game was great.

If he ends up with the rangers especially knowing it’s a rental I’d be terrified to give him a long term deal. Bochy is gonna obliterate his arm

If he's a rental, why not?

Does Bochy have a history of ruining arms? Never heard that.

I can certainly get behind a good pitcher's dual, but if I had a ticket to any of these games yesterday, I'd be thoroughly entertained.

I doubt he will sign an extension, but if he would Ohtani to the Phillies makes a bit of sense and they likely have the prospects to get it done (even though Painter is likely having TJ surgery).
