Lol wat? Feel free to post where I say that, because it's not there. Meanwhile, in the Zimmerman thread, I've argued multiple times the reason this story blew up was due to the dramatic 911 tapes, and not the race of parities involved.

For example, let's check the date of the OP itt. Weird how it was 3/17, originally in a LC thread. The first mention of Trayvon martin on 2+2 starts at 3/15 in the 3rd grader thread, where this GIANT story picks up a grand total of 16 posts before the tapes are released, almost all of about one line, before the subject changes to officer gun training and the drug war.

You wanna take a crack at explaining what narrative you were talking about? I've only asked you like 7 times.
The narrative many in the media tried to build was white guy gets away with shooting a black man. This narrative is hurt by the fact he isn't white. You've been answered before, then ignored when you kept attacking me when you didnt get the answer you wanted.

Again, this is open to anyone who has blamed the Trayvon Martin case's national prominence on the media's hazily-explained bias towards reporting white-on-black crime over the inverse, to the extent that they will "bend" Zimmerman into being white.

So Mojo, NeBlis, Exsubmariner... I've asked you all.
Again, this wasn't me. Feel free to apologize anytime.

It's hilarious because Obama is suddenly a big fan of states rights... when it comes to gay marriage.

But weed? Nah. **** California.

Interesting little bit polling data, support of gay marriage on the rise and those who consider themselves pro choice is at an all time low.

Totally serious Breitbart "Vetting" series... Obama was a Tea Partier... in 1997...because anyone who wore a period costume in the last 50 years or w/e is actually a Tea Partier or something.

Yes, that really is Barack Obama wearing a regimental coat and carrying a tricorn hat in his hand. And that flag behind him really is a Gadsden flag, with its serpent and its "Don't Tread On Me" slogan. You may want to let all of this sink in a bit, especially if you're a Tea Party-bashing progressive.
ahhahahahahahahhahahahahahah oh my god wooooowwwwwwwww

I would guess the aging demographics plays a role but the prevalence of ultrasounds is the biggest factor.

Lol, Im pretty sure ultrasounds been around longer than a year (or even a couple of decades).

Tebow is funnily the best guess so far.

Yeah, but if conservatives are convinced that the mandatory transvaginal ultrapound is not just stopping abortions, but actually making more people pro-life, well, that's a special kind of delusion.
05-23-2012 , 04:10 PM
Well I assume that the data is lumpy and just looked at the long term trend.
05-23-2012 , 04:17 PM
Id be shocked if you did the long term trend of the use of ultrasounds (since around the 50s or 60s) then you will probably find the past decade a blip.

Personally I just think its a case that the anti-women rights movement is a constant but the pro-women rights movement has moved on to gay rights. If the Republicans continue their war on women of the past couple years then there will be more pushback against them and it will swing back imo.

Honestly I would the (brilliant) strategy of playing up the fetus as an actual human being has been a big part. The idea of course has always been at the heart of the pro life movement but personhood laws as well as emotive videos of fetuses being broken up played as a tragedy of a victim instead going strait for the women as murders idea has a lot to do with it. When you present abortion as a choice between a helpless person vs an all powerful personal the idea of being "pro-choice" as a label loses its sheen, though not necessarily the idea of having an abortion.

Ultrasounds are in 3D now. They look like photographs.
