That take is inflammable.

My comment is that as long as there are people like you in positions of power in North Carolina, California and other coastal states will continue to attract your best and brightest students and professors and will continue to eat NCs lunch economically and culturally. I'm sure you and other Board members sincerely hope for the rebirth of textile manufacturing, tobacco plantations, and furniture assembly, which the limited faculty and students you are able to attract and retain will no doubt be of help with.

While I realize most of the dead-ender racists, like yourself, that make of the bulk of the NC GOP are senior citizens, and that the party is not long for the world, I am glad people like yourself are willing to display your views in print and media so that your children and grandchildren will be able to acknowledge and atone for the sad racism of their forebearers.

Good luck with refocusing NCs Board of Governors on what seems to be truly important in your state, recruitment of the next men's basketball team and celebrating the dying embers of the racist revival that arose in response to the civil rights movement.
Awesome. I am a UNC grad living in California, story checks out.

Oh jr. you are a chip of the old block.
If you thought family political dynasties were undesirable when the family was Bush or Clinton, imagine a Trump family political dynasty.

I know you'll all be shocked that polls say Manafort/Cohen will do jack **** to Trump's popularity. It didn't move at all. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/fir...y-week-n903626

It's like Fox News barely covered it or something and they have no idea what that was all about. The rest didn't care obviously.

Or not bothering making you ready for the workforce, which should be the primary goal. Or the part where you can get everything for the first few years of it online for significantly less but they force you to because money (when literally all of that crap is worthless that isn't your direct major). Or the book scam. Or the worthless professors who just read word for word out of the book then look like a deer in the headlights if you don't get it. Can go on and on. And yo u all in this thread want to send all the kids who can't hack it and stir trouble there for free for 4 years, there's a reason they need to be filtered out.

Trying to help you understand why and how wrong you are would be like explaining to the trump supporting subjects of this threads ire why tariffs aren't sensible.

Everything I stated was correct. There is no good reason other than it's a scam to force people to spend significant sums of money on classes that have nothing to do with their major. None.

Within literally the same week it’s going to somehow magicially be too soon to politicize

Yay GOP!!!

The tone policing when Sheldon Adelson dies on 2p2 will probably be the best person left that's not Trump.

Wheat is more correct than not that going like, 100-500k into debt for education is bad, but Canadian and European schools are pretty much just as good for 99% of students and cost a fraction of the price. It's the American greed that just ****s over young people.

"Free college for everyone" doesn't mean mandatory college.

It's pretty shocking that you would post this in an anti-Trump thread in a politics forum. The obvious rebuttal should be staring you in the face. If only bachelor's degree holders voted in 2016, Hillary Clinton would've won in a landslide and the Democrats would control Congress. Broad education makes society better as a whole.

Go for it, David.

Edit: OIC, why not make education requirements to vote? Lol. Broad rights also make society better as a whole.

You think the vast majority of the public watches White House press briefings? Or that anyone who does hasn't already made up their mind about who they're voting for in '18 and '20?

This can't be politicized until the end of the discussion over Mollie Tibbetts death and illegal immigration... So sometime around November 7.

I'm sure people see what's been happening...

Trump vs McCain
Trump vs Cohen
Trump vs DOJ, Sessions, Rosenstein
Trump vs Omarosa
Trump vs Mueller
Trump vs FBI, Comey, McCabe, et al
Trump vs Brennan, Clapper, IC security clearances

Nice shift right, right? If "both sides" of the debate are Republican, then Dems start to fade into irrelevance. We don't need the media talking about liberal stories and policies only 30% of the time; not this close to the midterms.

I'm not saying this will make liberals vote R, but it does halt a decent amount of messaging and energization. McCain obviously wasn't planned, and maybe the rest is just coincidence as well, but it has to be countered (mostly by the MSM, but also in regular conversation) before too much more damage is done.

+1 to everything AlltheCheese said here on education

Three futures - worlds in which:

1. General college education is encouraged.

2. Generally people don't go to college, but trade schools.

3. Many people don't go to college and only college educated people can vote

good/bad/dystopia

How broad? There is a lower limit right? We don't let children vote. If putting restrictions on voters would have stopped Trump, would it have been worth it?
