I dont think thats how it works. I think the reason there is alot more republians running is because they are alot more divided. If someone wants to be president on the democrats side and he thinks he can win vs clinton hes not gonna stand down for some kind of greater good. Clinton was in such a good position i think that alot of dems didnt think they had a chance.

Only poor health and a lone gunman on a grassy knoll serve as threats to Trump finishing his first term.
It will take a lot of resistance imo to make it possible to impeach Trump. Corporations and donors to the GOP need to feel it.

As for the second point, he's old, has advanced dementia, a bad diet and doesn't exercise, so there's a legit hope of that.

As for the third point, he's sort of at war with the CIA and he probably has a lot of deals with the Russian mafia and oligarchs. His 19% of the Russian oil company might not be posthumously redeemable.

He was a law and order democrat. He won because he made it okay for white people scared of black people to vote dem again. He's pretty much the exact candidate people are thinking of when they say a centrist white man needs to run.

That is a bit of a hatchet job and in that deposition he later does ok at reading. Not saying much, but I think he can read.

No matter who the Dem's run for president, the right wing media will tear into, and given the length of the election cycle, I don't think it really matters whether Dems run someone new that hasn't yet been attacked or someone like Warren.
Even if they had - they still only had a short amount of time. My entire argument is that **** builds up over time. You can't go from 0 to blind hatred (to the point where you don't even remember why you hate the person - you just know you do) in a few months.

I think Obama caught right-wing media by surprise to some degree. They assumed 2008 was Hillary's year like a lot of people.

Bottom line is it will take time for Trump's base to realize he ain't delivering ****, and become disillusioned with him. Once that happens everyone can safely turn on Trump and deny ever not being part of the #resistance. But until then it's political suicide for the right to go after him.

In the meantime the US just has to fade armageddon and the end of democracy.

I disagree with this in today's media climate, people can get barraged 8+ hours a day, day after day, it doesn't take that long to turn people.

Trump can do that in mere seconds though he'll always remember why. Those types always do.

Man that Trump/Abe handshake is just so f'ing bad. He asks what the cameraman said and Abe says "Look at me." so he looks at Abe and he(Abe) has to point to the camera. LOL. Then Trump tries 3x to pull Abe in. It's a total aggressive dick move on Trump's part. And he did it 3x! Once is bad enough.

I don't get why people insist that policy is that relevant to elections. It sure goes against any kind of surveys of voter knowledge. When was the last time personality didn't win over policy?

Maybe Ford? but he was doomed from Watergate and maybe not, he wasn't all that charming. You have to go back to Nixon's wins and there were a lot big reasons the Dems were ****ed in 68 and 72.

A new poll with Donald Trump supporters suggests that at least half of them believe that the president’s immigration-restricting executive orders are justified, due to the nonexistent Bowling Green Massacre.

Public Policy Polling put out a new poll recently, where they asked 712 voters “Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: “The Bowling Green massacre shows why we need Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration?” According to the results, approximately 51% of Trump voters believed the supposed tragedy warranted Trump’s order.

The poll also found that 48% of voters think Trump’s order is a “Muslim ban,” even as the administration has tried distancing itself from that characterization. Other indications suggest that 66% of Americans think the travel ban was poorly executed, with 49% of voters opposing the measure altogether.

So this whole Russian prostitutes video of them peeing on Trump and Russia being able to blackmail him is true eh?
02-10-2017 , 06:03 PM
And of course Trump did this because...Obama...reasons.

The big decision point for R's will be once we get close enough to 2018 election that Trump's popularity will matter. If he's super unpopular, even with R base (unlikely) we'll see breakage to avoid losing primaries, if he's just run of the mill unpopular, we'll see breakage in after-primaries (and maybe a bit before in very swingy districts without many hard-core Trumpers).

When I get home tonight so you want me to dig out your posts that slurped all over trump for ignoring the one China policy or are you going to just apologize for being wrong again and we're cool until tomorrow when you'll be humiliated again?

There will be a terrorist attack, war or some other crisis. His popularity won't always be in the toilet. He's set the bar so low for himself all he has to do is not trip over his own dick for a few days and his numbers will start to rebound - just like they did in the election race.

Interesting that they aren't appealing the stay to SCOTUS and instead will defend on merits in the District Court. I guess that's the right strategic choice?

US investigators corroborate some aspects of the Russia dossier

My favorite part:

Quote:
Reached for comment this afternoon, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said, "We continue to be disgusted by CNN's fake news reporting."
Spicer later called back and said, "This is more fake news. It is about time CNN focused on the success the President has had bringing back jobs, protecting the nation, and strengthening relationships with Japan and other nations. The President won the election because of his vision and message for the nation."
The bolded is the go to excuse for receiving friction about anything and reminds me of the SNL skit a lot lol.

Your post assumes Sushy cares about "logical consistency" in his arguments, and is capable of feeling what's known as "shame" when proven wrong. Lol @ u.

In February 2005 nobody had heard of Obama. This administration offers an unique opportunity for a democrat to get name recognition by being an obstructionist.

Should no new challenger arise, Warren is indeed the favorite to be the Democratic nominee.
