The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns. The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: No smocking guns.

I think a better question is: Would a Democratic Congress protect left wing Trump the same way we're seeing now?

If his approval rating with the base was like 85%? yeah probably, it's politicians

Exactly. It's the second sentence, especially the mental impairment that is disqualifying.

Similarly, I think Trumpkins love the policy positions (if you can call them that) of Trump. The problem is they're willing to put up with the stuff in the second sentence for those things. Trump 2.0 will just avoid the second sentence probs and will be a much tougher out.

Is this real?

It's pretty easy to imagine a big-D Democrat TRUMP. He's already pro-labor, he's been on the record in the past as being in favor of abortion rights, gay rights, etc.
05-28-2017 , 10:36 PM
not real, but could be. SAD!

So what would make left wing Trump, and by extension what makes Trump Trump? Is it mostly the honey badger?

yeah like if anthony weiner just pushed on and never stopped bull****ting and never owned up to anything, calling everyone catching him red handed liars with fake message logs and photoshopped pictures.

I feel like left wing Trump would be someone like Cynthia McKinney.

Oklahoma is not the only state where more students are getting three-day weekends, a concept that dates to the 1930s. The number is climbing slowly across broad swaths of the rural big-sky West, driven by a combination of austere budgets, fuel-guzzling bus rides and teacher shortages that have turned four-day weeks into an important recruiting tool.

The four-day week is a “contagion,” said Paul Hill, a research professor at the University of Washington Bothell who has studied the phenomenon in Idaho and who worries that the consequences of the shift — particularly for poor kids — are unknown.

But in other states, the Great Recession sparked a spike in the growth of four-day weeks that has since slowed, according to data collected by The Washington Post. Oklahoma stands out for the velocity with which districts have turned to a shorter school week in the past several years, one of the most visible signs of a budget crisis that has also shuttered rural hospitals, led to overcrowded prisons and forced state troopers to abide by a 100-mile daily driving limit.

Democrats helped pass bipartisan income tax cuts from 2004 to 2008. Republicans — who have controlled the legislature since 2009 and governorship since 2011 — have cut income taxes further and also significantly lowered taxes on oil and gas production.

“The problems facing Oklahoma are our own doing. There’s not some outside force that is causing our schools not to be able to stay open,” said state Sen. John Sparks, the chamber’s top Democrat. “These are all the result of a bad public policy and a lack of public-sector investment.”

But Gov. Mary Fallin (R) said a downturn in the energy sector and a decreasing sales tax revenue have led to several “very difficult budget years.”
The richest country in the world in the middle of years of continuous growth, and we can't even educate our kids.

Yeah, this next guy is just gonna drill down on rural whites being left behind and his plan to fix that.

He's not going to bother saying another candidates dad killed JFK, women should be punished for abortion, a former POW isn't a war hero, name call every other candidate, have the vocab of a 5th grader...

Actually he'll kinda be Ross Perot I guess.
05-28-2017 , 10:45 PM
trump has no real beliefs...

he's the ultimate egotistical bully, he's probably one of the only few people in the world who would actually consider running for president solely for their own fame and money

Yeah, they wouldn't say anything too harsh publicly and simply ignore him when it comes to actual policy.
05-28-2017 , 10:49 PM
i guess racism and misogyny is a form of belief too and he has a history of that pre-candidate

The gov is right though isn't she?

It is mostly a result of nat gas/oil prices plummeting after the fracking boom?

The real threat isn't some "left wing trump" it is somebody as vicious and authoritarian as Trump but actually incredibly sharp and competent.

I'm not following your logic. If the first part is true, wouldn't that suggest they purposely leaked this to make it look like they think it's a conspiracy so we think nothing really happened? But I guess both could be true also. They're guilty as **** AND it's a deep state conspiracy to out the truth.

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but can't these investigative committees subpoena tax returns? It seems that would make it so ridiculously easy to get to the bottom of all this. My guess is the Trump family and many campaign associates has financial dealings with Russia. And probably not the legit kind, but from mobsters and/or with direct ties to the Kremlin (must not have been easy for someone with multiple bankruptcies to get loans after 2008)

Everything could be learned from personal and corporate tax returns. They're there just waiting to be looked at. This whole thing could be over in a week.

A quarter century after graduating from public schooling, my first impression of a 4 day school week is still "Sweet!"
