Like I realize that Carson is a religious loon, but you don't do yourself any favors by regurgitating absolute false hoods.

Every neurosurgeon has/is going to be sued during their career. Malpractice suits don't quantify a physician's skill. Especially in high risk careers like surgery.
uhh, no. that was not what I was "regurgitating". I didnt even link an article. google carson and theres tons of stories about him getting sued for malpractice.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...-for-president

and ya, I want the brain surgeon that hasnt been sued a bunch of times.

The majority of the posts are legitimate concerns about the Administration. I don't call those out.
its not a falsehood that carson has been sued for malpractice a bunch.

Interesting. I didn't realize the President can only pardon Federal crimes (although I guess it certainly makes sense).

For something like treason (say for Flynn or Kushner if they were pardoned for something there was clear evidence they committed), would there be useful State laws that would have been broken that could be used against them?

Reliable German newspaper says that he came late and then didnt listen to the Italian head of state because he didn't use his earplug (for translation). Also terrorism wasnt the biggest topic. Te biggest topics have been free trade and the Paris Agreement. There was no real result because the USA seems to not care about an of those things anymore.

This dude definitely is a Clinton voting liberal who is apparently, for the very first time, learning that some people believe poor whites vote against their economic self interest out of racism. In May. 2017.

Story. Checks. Out.

(note that this "I don't understand" bewilderment was NOT present when Lestat was presented with the theory that Democratic politicians support a more generous safety net to keep black people poor. That one Lestat actually believed and repeated.)

Although follow-up stories were few following the Binder twins' return to Germany seven months after the operation,[92] both twins were reportedly "far from normal" two years after the procedure, with one in a vegetative state.[92][93][94][95] "I will never get over this . . . Why did I have them separated?" said their mother, Theresia Binder, in a 1993 interview.[92] Neither twin was ever able to talk or care for himself, and both would eventually become institutionalized wards of the state.[92]
oops

Carson participated in four subsequent high-risk conjoined twin separations, including a 1997 operation on craniopagus Zambian twins, Joseph and Luka Banda, which resulted in a normal neurological outcome
nice, hi-five!

Two sets of twins died, including Iranian twins Ladan and Laleh Bijani;
ugh. ugh. 4 more dead.

another separation resulted in the death of one twin and the survival of another, who is legally blind and struggles to walk
ok, not bad. 1 dead and 1 handicapped.

so, to me, thats not very great. and when I read further articles, there were plenty of drs who were critical of carson and his methodology.

but by all means, keep "regurgitating" the standard media story.

It's funny, like Soros I consider myself a failed philosopher. Law is easy. It's for semi-smart people. Actual smart people usually do science/math/Phil (though, as it happens, not on 2p2), but seeing Trump and his people, they can't even do law. They are just idiots.

NY State is investigating Manafort for some real estate stuff. Kushner and Trump have probably violated a lot of state laws and maybe some of it comes to light during the federal investigations.

Trump declares the presidency no fun anymore and refuses to leave Mar-a-lago.

I wonder if his lawyers advised him to cancel because he might leak information or say something incriminating re: the Russia investigation.
05-27-2017 , 12:44 PM
Eh, math/science people deserve to be taken down a few pegs imo.

Thread readability approaching critical meltdown levels. Trump - do something - fast!

Hey does anyone even remember a week ago Erdogan telling his security forces to attack peaceful protesters on American soil? If Obama was president I guarantee that would be getting >2 hours a day on CNN still today

Liberal arts should definitely get more respect imo and education valued for its own sake and for society rather than just as preparation for a trade. Law fits in there with science (hard or practical) and math. History, anthropology, psychology, philosophy, literature, etc should be raised a few pegs.

I'm sure multiple advisors have been offering this sort of advice since November, but the stupid bastard never listens. So there must be another explanation!

Your posted analysis here is ridiculous. And I have about as low an opinion of Carson as possible.

These surgeries are all extremely risky surgeries, with a low chance of (what you perceive as) "success". He may well be running ahead of expectation with the superficially unimpressive results that he has achieved. You can't just post outcomes without posting more info about how and where each set was conjoined and what the chance of a good outcome was thought to be prior to the procedure.

I'm also certain that all the parents were informed that the chance of a poor outcome and/or death was very high. They likely consented because a small chance of a normal life was preferable to a life of being the joined at the head (or whatever the case may have been).

Your conclusion "so, to me, thats not very great" is about as silly as "I like the guys who don't get captured". I get that you read a wikipedia article, but it's clear that the issue is more complicated than you realize.

The above notwithstanding, at least we can agree that Carson is an idiot. An idiot savant perhaps, but an idiot nonetheless.

They had the anonymous (Chris Christie?) letter and dossier and other stuff floating around waiting to be confirmed as well. I didn't see how many unconfirmed reports have been out there either, but there had to be some.

they are both equally smart biologically, its just that the guy that was nerding his youth away will appear _far_ more intelligent some years down the road.

so i just dont care very much for these types of discussion about smarts and not smarts tbh since who is "smart" is going to be highly dependent on who burned more time reading books, who got the direction and values from their parents while young, who has the devotion, who didnt fit in socially, who takes more pride in their intelligence etc.
Lol, well I know it wasn't you.
