Two more women describe unwanted overtures by Roy Moore at Alabama mall

Quote:
“He said, ‘You can just call me Roy,’ ” says Richardson, who says this first encounter happened in the fall of 1977, just before or after her 18th birthday, as Moore, then a 30-year-old local attorney, was gaining a reputation for pursuing young women at the mall in Gadsden, Ala. His overtures caused one store manager to tell new hires to “watch out for this guy,” another young woman to complain to her supervisor and Richardson to eventually hide from him when he came in Sears, the women say.

Richardson says Moore — now a candidate for U.S. Senate — asked her where she went to school, and then for her phone number, which she says she declined to give, telling him that her father, a Southern Baptist preacher, would never approve.

A few days later, she says, she was in trigonometry class at Gadsden High when she was summoned to the principal’s office over the intercom in her classroom. She had a phone call.
You'll never guess who was on the other end! Campaign's response is classy:

Quote:
If you are a liberal and hate Judge Moore, apparently he groped you,” the statement said. “If you are a conservative and love Judge Moore, you know these allegations are a political farce.”
The story is amazing, like the entire mall community was creeped out by Roy Moore being on the prowl

I think I'm actually seeing the "fake news!" defense starting to wear on people a bit, even some dumb ones

One thing I love about the "if you are a liberal and hate Judge Moore, apparently he groped you" defense is that ~all these stories have included disclaimers that the women he groped are Republicans today

“I said ‘Hello?’” Richardson recalls. “And the male on the other line said, ‘Gena, this is Roy Moore.’ I was like, ‘What?!’ He said, ‘What are you doing?’ I said, ‘I’m in trig class.’ ”
Lol 30yo calls the local high school and gets a student out of her trig class to ask her out. This guy is just the ultimate creep.

Hey Adios,

Please answer my question. Can you condemn a 30+ year old man ****ing a 14 year old girl?

I'll make it easy for you. Pretend it's a democrat. Not even Roy Moore. Or are you that much of a soulless monster?

Lindsey Graham yukking it up with "he was on the no-fly list for a mall!"

Yea, how the **** do you get banned from a mall? Like, what do you actually have to do? He probably flirted with cashiers and pissed off the customers behind him for taking so long to check out.

I'll put it this way, you don't ban the local DA on the first report of harassment.

I heard there is a signed confidential settlement/consent agreement.

I really wonder why white culture has gotten so repugnant. Instead of talking about other cultures' problems, it would be nice if they actually talked about how to fix white culture, which appears to be pretty degenerate and immoral, at least in the south.

CNN saying McConnell is asking Strange to vacate his seat, which he's keeping warm for whoever wins the senate election. They're trying to argue that if Strange resigns it will trigger a (new) special election.

I wonder what Moore told the school office person who answered the phone to convince them to make the high school girl leave class and come to the school office to take his phone call.

The only thing I can think of is to abuse his office and claim she was needed for some DA stuff.

Let's say this (or any other strategy) results in a new special election. In that case, what does the GOP need to do prevent Moore from running in the new primary? Does anyone know the exact mechanism?
11-16-2017 , 02:44 AM
There probably isn't any. Alabama has a sore loser law, but Moore didn't lose.

Nate Silver's Take On GOP's Roy Moore Problem

This may be slow pony, but Nate Silver has posted an interesting analysis of the GOP's unpalatable options in the Alabama Senate election.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features...on-in-alabama/

I disagree with Nate's contention that the Democrat winning is "really bad" for the GOP. In fact, considering all the pitfalls and complications for the GOP emanating from all the other options - which Nate so adroitly points out - electing Doug Jones would be the least disruptive option (long term) for Republicans. If Roy Moore does get elected and winds up in the Senate, it will be like Chinese water torture for the GOP. Better having a 2-year Democratic senator rather than an elected pedophile that drags the entire party down. (This mess is approximately 10 times worse than what Todd "Legitimate Rape" Aken did nationwide to the GOP.)

No, a Dem winning is Alabama really bad.

Like, Alabama is Confederate America bad. Jeff Sessions is from Alabama. Alabama would legalize slavery if it could. That damn War of Northern Aggression.

A Dem winning in Alabama is like Mike Pence being elected mayor of Key West, FL.
