I hate it when people pronounce it the way you do. Harr-ible? Nah, that's for the birds.

LOL it's the same thing with my name (Harry). You guys pronounce it like it's written "Hairy" or something.

I live in NH, I am going to show this to my friend from Oregon. This is proof enough to me that he is indeed a ****** that doesn't know how to pronounce his home state. It is not Oregin. Everybody from the west coast pronounces it with an I.

i dunno man, this one's a reach. i usually will defer to the people that actually live in the place i'm trying to pronounce. to me, yeah it looks like it should be ore-gone, but they say ore-gin, so whatever.

plus it's not like that pronunciation is that much of a stretch. think about the word "simpleton", same -on ending and same -in sound.

I think the first two letters of 'horrible' sound the same as 'hot.' Agree/Disagree?

i agree, but then again if you've read this read, we most likely pronounce "hot" differently as well.

I don't know how to show pronunciation on the internet, but it's NOT like "hairold." The first part rhymes with "hat," at least how I say it.

Listening to an old Smodcast the other day I heard Kevin Smith mention Craigslist.com and I instantly though Craig must be a name not used in America and that the site was probably founded by an Australian or something.
Then I heard Craig Newmark the founder talk. His clearly American and he pronounces it the same way so my question is how common a name is Craig in the US and how do you say it?

Craig Newmark and Kevin Smith pronounces it Creg. In the UK it a common name and is pronounced Crayg.
Just looked it up on Wiki and the Creg pronunciation seems to come from Manx Gaelic.

I have the same question about Colin Powell how common is Colin in the US and do you pronounce it like he does?
