Yes, he means in person. Mouth-breathers I work with do this **** all the time. They say "what?" even though they heard you completely fine, and then interrupt you with an answer three seconds later when you're still repeating what you said. If you balk at this, they act annoyed as if it's taking you too long to explain something.

Or simply take a second or two to actually register the sounds you just heard before going, "WAT??"

And other people will repeat the question you just asked (also annoying, but not as much as sitting there slack-jawed). I think it's their way of letting their brain catch up when it wasn't ready to think about something.

Jermaine O'Neal's free throws. The time between when he puts the ball above his head and lets go is excruciating. He shoots 76% so I dont believe this should piss me off

The fact that + 80 % is considered awesome as a free throw percentage

These guys practice a gajillion hours a day, play a bachillion games a season and yet struggle to make a simple stationary 13 foot shot with no opposition pressure on them

Even the worst brick handed Shaq playalike should be getting 90% +

Supposedly Its not that easy during game conditions. Shaq was super tall and had huge hands so he had to hold the ball weirdly and shoot it at an odd trajectory. Look at Dwight Howards FT%, supposedly he shoots 80+% in practice.

Doesnt referring to a free throw as a 13 foot shot render the rest of what you said void?

There is a scientific reason for this. I think it has something to do with a sensory registry that what you hear passes through before hitting the short term memory. This can cause a delay that makes you as for clarification, but the brain keeps figuring it out for you as the info gets through.

Not really when you consider the 15' line is measured from a point directly below the backboard. That puts the center of the rim closer to 13'.

The 40% 3pt shooters shoot 85+ in practice

Game conditions are very different from practice

Lol that's a terrible comparison. They're getting defenders in their grills behind the arc, not at the line.

Jim Barnett retiring as the Warriors color man, but Bob Fitzgerald keeps his job as the teams mouth piece.

Also Mark Jackson, I hate him.
