It just took me twelve minutes to figure out what the hell sporcle was, and an additional 2:15 to name all fifty states. Go figure.

My ability to name the states is only limited by how fast my fingers can type. But I will 100% do it in alphabetical order thanks to learning that song in elementary school. I can also put them all on a map.

I can get the 50 capitals, but I'll take multiple guesses at a couple states, particularly in the Dakotas.

I did a Euro/Africa Sporcle thanks to this thread.

44/47 Euro countries (Albania, Cyprus, San Marino)
42/54 African countries (lots, obv)

Europe and South America I can get. Asia I get lost in all the "stans" and see no need to learn them at my age. Africa is just a big cluster with all the recent changes (meaning since I was in 6th grade), so that's a no go. Oceania has too many little islands.

What pisses me off is North America. The answer should be Canada, USA, and Mexico. But noooo. They decided to add all the Caribbean islands that aren't real countries anyway. I refuse to take that quiz on principle.

ETA: The best state quizes are where they only show you the outline of two states together.

Oceania islands are a nightmare.

I only ever remember 2 of them. Tuvalu because it's where the .tv domain is hosted and Nauru because I have no idea why.

PokerStars almost opened an office in Tuvalu due to the timezone for support staff. It was only when their lawyers figured out how to open one in Sydney that they abandoned that plan.

Nauru has a very interesting history and present.

The island had lots of phosphorous and they kept selling and selling and sold like 90% of their island. They got really rich and at one point were the richest per capita nation in the world. But, when they ran out of phosphorous they ended up with a ruined island and poverty. So, they decided to become a prison island and lately Australia has been paying them to imprison refugees. Yes, when Australia gets refugees arriving on boats, at least some of them get sent to a prison on one of the most remote islands in the world.

Not really, it's considered a continent mainly because of its tectonic independence, size and biological / cultural uniqueness.
