Oh yeah, I also disliked the repeating of lines of dialog to outline certain points. Batman Begins was littered with this and it was one of the reasons I hated it. TDK was still super awesome though.

Gordon is the only character whose life work is to abide by the rules. One of my issues with the movie was that Gordon agreed much too easily to help Batman cover up Dent's crimes. Yes, it was for the greater good, but Gordon has always been about justice and following the rule of law, not the greater good of society (allowing Batman to interrogate Joker was another thing that went against the Gordon character).
Wasn't associating with Batman a crime? I would say that Gordon is willing to bend the rules a little for the greater good. Beginning in BB Gordon was willing to help Batman by giving him information and other instances that don't come to mind. This would definitely be seen as nefarious by other officers and citizens.

Someone earlier brought up the "Joker Begins" idea, and I think that would be an amazingly awesome film, but I guess it will never happen.
However, I do wish more production companies would make movies about villains, they're often much more interesting than the heroes.

The odd appearance was usually attributed to some accident which "created' the Joker. In the '89 film, Nicholson's Joker puts on makeup to look normal.

Very creepy sound, set up those scenes well. I think it was used in a few other spots too.

Like many of you, I think this would have been a much better film if they hadn't rushed Two-Face, and instead used him as a foreshadowed future villain. Thought it had many fantastic sequences but was not a fantastic movie; BB was considerably superior imo.

It was used every time the Joker was on screen or about to go on screen.

I disagree completely. Although I loved BB, TDK clearly has much more substance, much better writing/dialogue, better cinematography, and an overall better plot.

ah **** it.

I hope that for the next Batman, they introduce Robin and then bring back Two Face and have his evil counterpart be The Riddler.

Then for the 4th film, I hope that they bring in Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze.

Oh wait a second...

i cant think of a villain they could do the next one with. i also cant remember any of the villains other than the ones theyve already done movies with.. except clayface, but I doubt they'll do him

bane is sooo perfect as the next villain, he isn't some over the top gimmicky villain like the mad hatter or mr freeze. too bad shoemaker used him in batman and robin.

A Joker Begins would certainly be awesome. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head for the role, but man, thatd be amazing.

It's completely queer comic-book nonsense, obviously. I mean, think of all the property damage Batman causes practically every time he hits the town - you gotta think he's caused any number of bystander casualties by now, etc. But he won't just go ahead and off some guy who's guaranteed to threaten the lives of God knows how many innocent people every hour he goes free, and can't really even be safely incarcerated, except under conditions that might as well be death anyway. Go figure.

Very good movie. I'd say I liked it slightly better than Batman Begins (which I liked a lot). Agree with those who said it fell off toward the end, focusing on Dent at the expense of Joker. The early Joker scenes (meeting with crime bosses, Bruce's party) were just amazing. Also, they did a nice job of making the chase scene with the Tumbler/Batmobile "fresh" even though they had one in BB as well.

In short, A+ would watch again.

Oh, also, I'm definitely not in the "OMG Maggie Gyllenhaal is hideous" camp, but man she looked bad in this. Did she have a nose-job recently or something? I used to think she was pretty cute, but she was rather unbelievable as a woman that a billionaire playboy and the DA would be fighting over.

Childhood friend/coworker. In any event...did anyone really want Katie Holmes back?

And that Bale arrest scares me. When Russell Crowe threw a phone at someone his movie tanked.

You seem to be arguing about something different, but either way you don't have to be Jason Bourne to figure out you should just drive around the block or just drive down the other side of the COMPLETELY cleared street...rather than go down into a long narrow tunnel with no escape (aka obvious death trap sans helicopter)...especially when the other, better options are so obvious.

I liked the dialogue you pointed out at well. I don't think suzzer was saying the cops should have been super cops or something once attacked in the tunnel.

Anyone else notice that the way they took out the SWAT van, by knocking it into the water, was very Michael Mann ala HEAT (blind-siding the van with a semi)? I like it.

Heh, I was about to post that at one point. Every time I whip it out.

Bale getting arrested is still a potentially dark point for the movie. Ledger is the main draw but he's dead and not the goddamn Batman himself. Punching your mother and sister in the face won't help the movie in any way though.

As he's sitting there you see shards of glass all over the shelf above his head. Seemed pretty clear what happened.
