Lots of great Japanese and Sushi downtown in Little Tokyo, and Mexican south or east of downtown. Bludso's BBQ in Compton is good too.

If you're in Santa Monica, get sandwiches at Bay Cities (Chicken Parm or the Godmother).
+1 to bolded. Nootka dropping truth bombs.

Second time posting about the awesomeness that is Dic Ann's in Quebec, got to have it this weekend. I think they are doing some massive expansion, but for now, if you find yourself up there, go, get two cheeseburgers, all dressed, a hot dog, fries, poutine, and thank me.

Thought the A1 steak sandwich at Arby's was pretty damn good. Could have used a little more sauce but otherwise tasty

still exploring the tbell dollar menu. lunch today was two mini chicken quesadillas, triple layer nachos, and a spicy tostada for a total of $4. didn't try any new hacks, just mixed bites from the nachos and quesadillas. 6.5/10.

Saw your original post too late but the trifecta is the way to go. Shrimp is solid too. Can't complain about the 4 chunks of sausage for a buck either. Would like to try the Catfish next time but it is tough not ordering that bag of seafood.

Don't think there's any by the port. Closest maybe in NDG? I know my buddy's have taken me to one pretty close to the airport too.

First time going to their new website, rare case where the pictures of the burger look worse than the actual product.

The burgers are unlike anything I've had in the world, it's like a sloppy joe, meets a burger, meets a panini, with all sorts of flavor. I'm just such a big fan, for all I know it's like the White Castle of the Quebecois and I'm going a little overboard with it.

Their fries are actually really really good on their own. Since the poutine is not classic style, they use their special sauce (like soupier chili) instead of gravy and cheese instead of curd. So some people think the poutine is just so so. So when we go now, we always get a few poutines and [plain fries to share.

Haven't played blackjack there yet, just small stakes CCR.

What I find amazing about the fast food in the states is the portion sizes - they are enormous! There is no surprise there is such an obesity problem in the states with so many places selling junk food so cheap and in such huge portions. Vegas is great tho, cos you can stay and eat for almost nothing..

Instead of the usual back-and-forth of "lol McDonald's sucks," "yeah, but Taco Bell isn't REAL Mexican food," "u gonna get fat" and "no u" I'd like to keep the discussion ITT on track and devoted to our love of delicious fast food items (don't get me wrong, if you think a particular fast food place or item sucks, by all means say so, but explain why rather than just linking to the trailer for Super Size Me or whatever).

To get the discussion started, here's what I'm going to do. I haven't had a ton of fast food lately, and there are a lot of new items that I am curious about but have yet to try. I'm going to take suggestions on things to try. I'll go out and do a taste test and post a detailed review. Others are more than welcome to join me in reviewing, of course. I'll try to try something new and post a review at least once every couple days (this thread might end up rather hazardous to my health).

Because there's often debate on what exactly constitutes "fast food," I'm going to go with a broad definition for the purposes of discussion - fast-casual places like Chipotle, Quizno's, etc. will be included, as well as gas station deli-type places like Wawa, Sheetz, etc.

For the purposes of making suggestions, here is a list of fast food/fast casual restaurants I have easy access to:

-McDonald's
-Burger King
-Hardee's
-Chick-fil-A
-Sonic (never been here)
-Wendy's
-KFC
-Arby's
-Long John Silver's (never been)
-Subway
-Quizno's
-Checkers (never been)
-Chipotle
-Five Guys
-Taco Bell
-Dunkin' Donuts
-Popeye's
-Wawa
-Royal Farms

probably missing a couple, but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I haven't had dinner tonight and don't have any plans, so suggestions will be accepted starting immediately!

Any Canadians have good poutine gravy recipe?

Yeah chili sauce would ruin the poutine - good choice.

I've also heard really good things about St Hubert's chicken but have never partaken...

And now I want one of those burgers

I had a Wendy's double bacon portobello melt last week and was surprised how good it was. Much closer to Five Guys quality than McD or BK.

They do tend to have the best cheese sauce in the low end ff game.

Thoughts on Burger Fi? Had it on Monday, its a shakeshackesque with way more topping options chain that I think originated in Florida but are popping up everywhere.
