What part of get a shake was not clear?

Also: Went to Firehouse about 7:30. Ordered a sandwich. Waited for and ate it. Total customer count during that time: 1 (me). Guess I better enjoy it while I can.

Ate at Togo's today and they rank near the top with Jersey Mike's on my list. Double the meat of most sub places and their wheat bread is the best sub bread out there IMO.

I don't think that's indicative of much, 7:30 PM seems like a super slow time for a sandwich shop

That seems logical but they had 5 people working.

any Cookout order without hushpuppies is an amateur order.

Multiple locations? IDK if i'm hitting a good wendy's or if you are hitting a bad, but I had the pretzel burger today and the lettuce looked just like the lettuce on my pretzel spicy chicken. Definitely leading the lettuce game for national fast food chains imo.

Not sure why following the logic of staffing for a rush leads to idle employees at the tail escapes you, but here we are.

Firehouse is solid, family loves it on road trips. Their ham is way too sweet but other that I view it as a generally better version of the chain sandwich concept.

so I work in a small office by myself and today a little envelope from Firehouse subs came in the mail. they just opened a new location like a mile from my office....

now I have 15 of these for myself to use until August 31st....

any medium sub, medium drink and chips for $2.62....pretty elite value for the next 6 weeks worth of work lunches

had the meatball today and was very impressed. not a thing I would change about the sandwich and absolutely blows subway meatball out of the water. this was freshly toasted, melted cheese, some spices and fresh meatballs in marinara.

any other elite options I should look at next?

The steamer, beef and cheddar brisket, and hook and ladder are all spectacular

yeah the new york steamer looked pretty bomb, looks like I will try quite a few over the next month or so and will report back. meatball was elite though and would gladly pay full price for that

I like the engineer too, turkey, swiss & sauteed mushrooms. Wrote ITT a little while ago about how impressed I was w/ the steamer, pastrami was really high quality.

Same, I enjoy the engineer. I normally get the steak and cheese one though.

Two or three different locations. I don't know what their deal is with the lettuce. I do have Wendy's leading fast food places in BACON though. I've never had bad bacon there.

I noticed that my local McDonalds has a McCafe happy hour from 2pm-5pm. You can get 2 for 1 drinks during this time.

Double Mocha time!

Firehouse has some kickass names for their subs, that's for sure.

Agreed and given the use of subway's meatball as a comparison point, you really can't go wrong. I'd go with the brisket next, I'm not sure I've had a better BBQ sandwich from any of the chains. Steamer is very one note but that note is salty, fatty beef with mustard so it's a very good note if you're into that sort of thing. Italian is also nice and I'd personally slot it ahead of the hook and ladder but that's just a preference.

DiBella's has been consistently underwhelming for me, maybe it's because all the ones I've gone to have been in the burbs. I've been seeing more and more Billy Simm's BBQ places around MI and while I think that it's a tad bit expensive for how much food you get the quality has been consistently satisfying. Their hot sauce isn't even hot tho.

Ivar's is a local fast food chain that is a few steps up from Long John Silvers. They have a sit down version of this restaurant not to far from Pikes market. Both the halibut and shrimp Louie salad are great.
Have you guys ever eaten at Biscuit Bitch? It looked interesting and I'm thinking of going next time I'm in Seattle.
