Burrito ~6.5
Chips+guac ~3
Drink ~2

How are you paying 17$ lol

Pretty sure it looks something like:

Burrito - $7
+ Guac - $2.5

Chips + Salsa - $3

Drink - $2.5

Total - $15+tax which gets you over 16 in lots of states.

Where do you live? Downtown Chicago prices are about 13+tax (which is still lol, who's actually paying 2 bucks just for guac??) for that set up and I figured that'd be about the highest outside of maybe an airport.

Yea, if you are paying 2.5 for Guac you don't get to complain about prices...

are you in NYC or something? when i go to chipotle I always get a burrito and a large drink, and its $8.88. i known guac is like an extra $2, but i cant imagine chips/salsa are $6+.

Yes. A steak burrito now nearly $10 after tax with the price increase. Guac is $2.50, chips and salsa is $2.50, drink is like $2.25. I just went on online ordering, and it is actually exactly $17 for a steak burrito w/ guac, chips/salsa, and a large drink

I realize NYC is more expensive but the Moe's prices I quoted are from NYC as well. It's 7.99+tax for exactly the items above, except you also get unlimited salsas.

I mean it's just ridiculous that I can go to a sit-down Mexican restaurant and get a much more delicious burrito (and get served free chips and salsa) and even after tax and tip it's cheaper. If it's lunch, significantly cheaper.

Get chipolte to go and/or bring your own guac in protest lol

I don't go to chipolte at all but $2.50 for guac is criminal

I mean it is def overpriced but I've posted about this before - I make my own guac all the time and it's not like it's much cheaper to make your own personal sized guac serving. You need an avocado, onion, jalapeño, lime, cilantro, chopped tomato, and whatever spices. And it might last overnight in the fridge but that's it.

It's far more criminal that's it's $10 for 4 oz of meat, rice, beans, and lettuce/salsa. And $2.50 for chips/salsa is lol

Agreed, there are plenty of quick sit-down mexican places that are cheaper, and nearly as fast in some cases.
I do love me some Chipotle carnitas though.

so for the first time in my life i had a FF experience so bad that i rage-called taco bell customer service on the car ride home. Mishaps included getting wrong drinks, items getting removed from order, items missing from order, replacement drinks being wrong again, then replacement drinks being only half-full. Food actually wasn't too bad, but it was the first time I had been to that taco bell - won't be going back there.

Long story short: for my troubles taco bell sent me the holy grail of taco bell coupons. Single coupon entitling me to two free items on the menu (excludes things like grande meal, box meal, and items like that). What's the best play here? Seems like I should be ordering two of the most expensive items on the menu.

Value wise seems like double Cantina burrito or the XXL stuft burritos. I'd just get whatever I was feeling that day though.

dunno man, im used to just loading up on the cheap value items. initial idea is a grilled stuffed burrito and one of those smothered burritos. i think the cantina menu stuff is the most expensive but i wasn't a big fan of it the one time i tried it. its too bad they discontinued lava sauce because then i could have tried adding lava to each of the two items for even more value

Tell them to keep the coupon if they bring lava sauce back?

Use the coupon as kindling to burn that mother to the ground.

Speaking of guac, Qdoba has some free guac promotion going down right now. Shut up and take my money.

It's honestly as good as Chipotle to me, maybe better since they have the ancho chili BBQ sauce and queso.

A ton of more places in between chipotle and qdoba that are better imo

Freebirds etc

Of course, I think I rate freebirds higher than chipotle like 80% of the time

If you like chips + salsa, then moes is probably gonna be a much better deal since chipotle prices that at a ridiculous amount and at moes it's free iirc.

If you aren't getting chips + salsa, I think chipotle > moes even though it's a little bit more expensive.*

For me, a chipotle burrito with guac is like $1.50 more than a moes burrito. I feel that I get a much larger serving size at chipotle doing the half and half trick (but I know in NYC they crack down on this, I'm in Texas), and I feel like Chipotle is more than enough superior to Moes to go to Chipotle 100 % of the time.

If I liked chips + salsa and had to pay 3.50 more, I don't really care enough about it and would probably still go to Chipotle.

That said, Texas price on Moes is the same as NYC price apparently. Texas is one of the cheaper places and NYC is the most expensive, so I guess they just have a national pricing? That is the big difference for you, Chipotle is also upping their prices significantly in NYC (I think it's like $2.50 more for the meal you described than for me), whereas Moes is staying the same.

So for an NYC guy who also likes chips + salsa it's costing you 8 dollars more or something, so I don't blame you at all for preferring Moes.

It is actually surprising to me that Moes is not charging more in NYC than they do elsewhere. All businesses did that I thought. That is really the anomaly Mullen imo.
