Watched the Pistons doc. It's kind of funny watching it now. I grew up in Michigan and remember watching those games when I was a kid. It never occurred to me that back then everyone hated them and I was in the minority of people who were rooting for them. I thought "bad boys" was just a cool name someone gave them lol. I didn't know it related to their dirty tactics.

I remember Dennis Rodman almost losing it and talking about how he was contemplating suicide with a shotgun, but Rick Mahorn stayed up all night with him and talked him out of it.

City of God - I really enjoyed this movie, but wasn't as good as the hype. Nothing that unexpected, dialogue was very good but not amazing, visuals were cool but didn't blow my mind. 4 stars.

The Master - An absolute masterpiece, probably better than There Will Be Blood in that it raises bigger and better questions. 5 stars, possibly a Top 10 all-time movie for me.

Out of the Furnance - Surprisingly solid movie starring Christian Bale that I'd never heard of before. The acting is really good, the setting is cool, and the script/plot is satisfactory. 3 stars.

Latest Star Trek movie - Thought this thing was a piece of crap. Action was fine but it barely went anywhere and the character arcs were bland. Was shocked at how well reviewed and liked this was on Rotten Tomatoes. Made me worried for how generic the new Star Wars movies might end up being. And by generic I mean not caring about the characters, not challenged to think about the world/life different (as both the original Star Trek and Star Wars did in their own pollyannaish ways), and basically going on an amusement park ride movie. 2 stars.

Arbitrage - Not bad, typical Richard Gere piece. Rotten Tomatoes has it at 87%, and that's a pretty way to describe it. Solid B/B+ plot, acting, and intangibles.

Best Worst Movie Ever - Unbelievable. Funniest thing I've seen in a long time. How someone cast those people in a movie is beyond me.

Not sure if it's on Netflix but it might be: The Newburgh Sting.

Awesome documentary about how the FBI entrapped a group of 4 from Newburgh, NY, into volunteering for a "terrorist" plot in exchange for money. Pretty interesting. If it's not on Netflix it's on HBO.

Out of the Furnace was great. Woody Harrelson awesome as usual. I don't think I've watched a movie of his I didn't like.
Also watched We are what we are. I thought it was terrible. I just didn't care about anything that was happening.

Just watched the Newburgh Sting. Was a good documentary.

Spoiler:
I feel mostly bad for the three guys that joined after the first one. The first one, to me, was borderline. Its hard to say from what you seen but he seemed most willing, but either way it doesnt matter since they were all entrapped imo(I know this is the point of the film so its somewhat biased). Also makes you feel for the mosque. Get a very bad rep for doing nothing. Some of the news reporters quotes were disgusting.

All that said the informant was an impressive actor, I guess you learn that **** from the fraud and whatnot he committed.

Can someone PLEASE recommend a movie that will scare the **** out of me? I don't like cheesy horror with fake scares and CGI and I think Blair Witch was one of the scariest movies I've ever seen

The shining and Rosemary's baby spring to mind. Also Blair witch wasn't scary imo. I was scared when I saw it when I was 12, but that was about it

Edit: or try some of the original Japanese horror films like the grudge and the ring. The originals are really good
