Although the subjects were pretty enjoyable characters, I left this one feeling like the whole 'Somm' culture was centered around bull****. I might just hate wine culture though. I watched with friends and thought the entire thing was supposed to be a subtle exposé of the high-end wine connoisseur thing being a farce.

I think Woody Harrelson is a PSH tier actor and love everything from him, but I couldn't help but think that
Harsh Times and Training Day were both superior version to the corrupt LAPD angle, although Harsh Times isn't really 100% a LAPD flick. Either way, it's another stellar Christian Bale performance and an entertaining film. Harsh Times is probably a little darker than both if people haven't seen it but I'd definitely recommend it, esp if you're a fan of Bale.
Speaking of Bale, checked out
Out of the Furnace. Worth a watch, I'd rate the plot a C- but the acting close to an A. They definitely did some good casting and set the scene well for rural northeastern communities. Easily one of the more realistic portrayals of bottom of the barrel rural fashion up in the northeast.
Lastly, recently watched Melancholia and Nymphomaniac from Lars Von Trier. Found Melancholia to be far superior, and I guess many people label them both 'art films'. They get a little slow at times, but I definitely appreciated the sometimes bizarre and unique filming styles. Curious how others feel about Von Trier's films. Nymphomaniac is obviously pretty NSFW and both films include nudity.
