Fisher King is his best work available on Netflix, but it's a downer at times.

Been on a Steve Coogan kick lately. Alan Partridge and The Trip are hilarious.

watched Homefront last night, pretty much standard Jason Statham movie, but I liked it. Anything else similar to that, where I can just turn off my brain and enjoy the action?

Not quite same storyline but I would highly recommend

Dredd
Out of the Furnace

If you have not seen them already.

Dirty Wars was a very good, chilling documentary about the War on Terror.

Was excited to watch Street Thief after hearing about it here but I looked it up and saw that it's all fake so think I'll pass.

There should be rules against calling these types of films documentaries.

I thought his book on blackwater was extremely well researched and sourced.
I did not get that same impression from the film dirty wars.

I'm about half way through Orange is the New Black Season 2. It's alright so far, but a little disappointing. Worth trying though.

I watched Dear Zachary and have to echo a lot of the sentiment I've heard from other people. It's not the type of feeling where you lose faith in humanity after seeing it, but there are people out there that are like a black holes that suck goodness out of the world.

I really liked this movie then googled said thief and immediately felt betrayed lol. Funny how thinking something is real can affect your enjoyment level. Weird.

As far as good but true documentary type films....I highly recommend The Imposter. Into the abyss and Grizzly Man also both excellent by Werner Herzog - Abyss is on NF but Grizzly Man is not.

Uhh did you watch the whole thing?

Spoiler:
the whole movie was about the imposter's claim that the family always knew he wasn't the missing kid because the family killed him and his appearance would be a reasonable coverup

Yeah.
Spoiler:
That was one of the things I found tilting, that they would take the word of this deranged psychopath and believe that they killed the kid, based of what he claimed. That guy's word should mean less than dirt at this point.

Not only that, but even if they did kill the kid, it makes no sense to pretend that the imposter is the kid as some form of cover up. They had already gotten away with the murder, pretending this dude is the son for that reason alone is beyond stupid. Just say that he isn't your kid and let the cops take him away, if anything, pretending he is your son when he isn't is even more incriminating.

He had been missing for 2-3 years and it was pretty much a cold case. What was the plan here? Live with him for years knowing he's not your son? Seems like it would be a lot simpler to say "Hey, that's not my son."

+1 thanks to whoever recommended ITT.

Reminded me a little of the poker days. Marathon sessions, camaraderie, and success/disappointment.
