#Cybersleuths: The Idaho Murders the new 3 part doc is out on Paramount+, I finished it.

It's about the Idaho college students murdered in 2022 and PHD criminology student Bryan Kohberger was arrested.

I am familiar with the case and it was good. I can't wait to see this trial and find out what was going on with the surviving roommate that heard noises/screaming and saw a strange guy in all black walk by and then locked herself in bedroom, which is fine, but didn't call police for like 8 hours, if it was even her that called.

Trial could be later this year, but defense is pushing for 2025.

Curb episode 1 - lololol

Only negative is that the episode felt like a bunch of disjoint comedy skits.

I normally hate when ppl nitpick like this but I found it pretty ridiculous that larry would ever in a million years fly to Atlanta to go to a party with a bunch of strangers for money (and not even get paid up front lololololololol) this is a billionaire who absolutely hates parties and ppl and has moved across the country and even the world (1st to NYC then to Europe) to get out of going to a charity event so for someone who will go to such great lengths to avoid doing anything he doesn't enjoy to all of a sudden get on a plane and fly to some rando fans house and have to socialize with a bunch of strangers to collect an amount that can't possibly make a difference to his overall wealth is just so far fetched for his character it was a little hard to swallow.

that giant nit pick aside was great to have larry and leon back can't wait to see the rest of the season.

I will say I find it interesting that this is the only show I can think of where I liked it better when it was in SD vs HD. once it changed from the hand held documentary style to the more polished multi cam look it lost a lot of its charm and improvisational feeling much to its detriment imo.

the rant against siri however was an all time highlight and I swear I've had the same outburst against my phone many times. bravo.

I had the exact same thought with your spoiler. It really made absolutely no sense.

Spoiler:
Maybe if it was on a huge yacht….lol

Finished Mr and Mrs Smith and absolutely loved it. I thought their chemistry was great and the approach taken was the right way to go. They obviously don’t have Pitt and Jolie attractiveness and chemistry, but is that even possible to get anywhere else? That was some seriously sexy **** there. Some of the hottest non-naked stuff since… Elizabeth Shue in Palmetto and Demi Moore in Disclosure? I don’t know… Either way, will most definitely make my top 10 this year and I’m hoping there’s more.

I caught up on Halo and Tokyo Vice, I actually had only watched the first half of the first episode of Halo previously, it's better than I thought, looking forward to both tomorrow.

Next week Resident Alien is back with season 3 on SYFY and also season 2 of Vigil on Peacock.

Based on a True Story - About a couple who wind up doing a successful true crime podcast with, and on, a serial killer.

Meh, definitely not bad, but only ok. When it's taking me 2-3 sittings to watch a 30min show, figured I'd give it up with 2.5 episodes left.

Dead to Me is real bad. My wife is watching it and is halfway through the second season and feels committed since it's an easy watch - only 30 mins per episode.

The storyline is laughably bad and the dialog is horrendous. The dialog is the same thing we seem to see in shows all the time now where it's just this quick snarking back and forth in a way that no one speaks. When did it become okay to write dialog that has this weird cadence back and forth between speakers? Also, what parent says to their kid, "You know what's hard? Pushing your huge head out of my vagina". That's just stupid and lazy writing.

Also, what parent allows their teenage kid to say '****' every other word and talk to them like dogshit?

Of course, it has to go down the gay/lesbian path since that is required in shows these days but all they had to do it with is a character that would never go down that path so it's weird and not believable.

Ya, okay, I kind of watch it too while playing Disc Valley Golf on my phone.

Burried: The 1982 Alpine Meadows Avalanche: 4/5.

(I gave it an extra .5 point because of my disdain of the current “episodes” meta that has entered the documentary genre. It’s a standard 1:36hr length.)

Tells the story of the culture of a ski patrol crew, hurricane forecaster, and a tragic unprecedented avalanche.

Bitconned 3.5/5

Already covered here, one of the many get rich quick scams surrounding crypto currency. Entertaining.

American Nightmare 3.5/5

Also covered here.

Any other recommendations for documentary’s on Netflix? I haven’t kept up.

When you say you haven't kept up from how long ago? I assume you've seen Tinder Swindler and Inventing Anna

A couple that flew more under the radar

Muscles and Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators was kind of interesting if you watched it back in the day.

Bad Surgeon was interesting albeit sad and infuriating.

Criminal Code on Netflix was a fun Brazilian cops and robbers show. Nothing earth shattering or much watch but if you like that genre I enjoyed it. Thought the guy who played Sem Alma/Soulless was great. Memorable character

I just watched Girl in the Picture and it was enjoyable (for the documentary comment above)

Also watched the original The Gambler from the early 70s. Should be a must watch for this type of crowd.

I had to rewatch the beginning though because at first I couldn't remember who was who out of the three women they were talking about

Very Atlanta-light but not in a bad way or anything. I’m really curious about the future of this show. Vince’s music, at least up to Big Fish Theory, is really interesting. Some dark **** but you wouldn’t know it song by song. But the albums as a whole are very thematic.
