I couldn't last more than 5min in either 2.5men or big bang theory but the kominsky method wasn't bad.

i feel really dumb now because i read that as they were using the kominsky method - which was apparently oh god we suck kind of promotional schtick where in the trailer they literally said "brought you by people who made two terrible tv shows" and tuned in expecting an epic trailer and was deeply disapointed

reality of bookies is nothing like that and i already hate that show because it's just reinforcing stupid hollywood tropes that don't exist in the real world

seinfeld was the only show to get it right

The bar scene is literally lifted directly from the novel. So you lose your bet.

From where I've lived, particularly Manhattan, men and women absolutely behave like that [and London's probably not very different]. Saying men don't behave like....whatever way you disapproved of when trying to pick up single women drinking alone in a bar, politely, is simply untrue.

I mean, yeah, women probably they don't exactly say 'Don't say anything and you can come home with me after 2 drinks' but they certainly behave in ways awfully similar at times. There's a reason Louisa wasn't drinking at home.

I was talking about the language used "e.g., the bar scene language." rather than women going to bars to pick men up, which obviously happens.

Therefore, if you would like to win the bet you can provide evidence the book uses the same language.

So, Bookie is average and decently entertaining, but tonight they tried to charge 10% vig on an underdog money line bet, lol.

I guess it has to be just like poker scenes, where it's never correct.

Just watched this. Truly amazing how bad some of the gambling stuff is.

They also decided they would split 400 k(maybe 500k?) of exposure but took a 500K bet to win 1.4 millon. makes sense.

Like in the first episode of the current season of Justified, the bad guy is playing blackjack and doesn't split aces.

May December was quite interesting. I was doodling on my guitar while watching and it hit a certain point where I sat it aside to focus up. There’s so many minor details that I’m considering a rewatch soon. It’s very good. And worth discussing and debating afterwards.

A few episodes into A Murder at the End of the World and it’s pretty good already and has the potential to be great. I like the flashback scenes better than the current timeline but both are good. I’m curious to see where this is headed.

Gave Deadloch a go, or at least 3-4 episodes. It was okay. Missus watched it all the way through and also thought it was just okay. Main problem I had was it was a comedy that just wasn't funny, but the story was decent and the actors mostly gave solid performances.

The only thing annoying is they play brief music a few times an episode and it's like 5 times as loud as normal. lol
I just noticed that the six short episodes of season 2 are now on Netflix.

I liked it quite a bit. Sort like Schitts Creek mixed with the office.

The Devil All the Time was great. Super good acting and a really dark film. Some of the online reviews I saw said that there were too many pieces in the film and maybe it needed to be a mini-series (enough with the mini-series already. Most of them should just be movies). The movie had a narrator which made following the plot, not a problem which for me following the plot with movies these days is very difficult.

Just binged The fall of the house Usher during the weekend and it’s probably in the top 3 series I’ve watched this year. Absolutely amazing all around, would highly recommend.
