I'm genuinely jealous that you get to start
Kingdom for the first time. I've rewatched it twice. Reminds me... I watched
The Wheelman specifically because Frank Grillo (Alvey from Kingdom) is the lead. The Wheelman was tense and had me engaged, but ultimately pretty shallow and totally unmemorable.
Similarly, I watched a couple movies on Amazon Prime due to Jonathan Tucker's (Jay from Kingdom) involvement.
Skin is a twenty minute short on Amazon that was pretty disturbing and it'll stick with me.
100 Girls - also w/ Tucker and also on Prime - was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I knew it'd be bad based on the title and trailer, but I had to see it. It's like American Pie or one of those other adolescent sex-based comedy movies, but way way worse. Just... wow.
I'm finally getting to work on
Bojack Horseman and liking it a lot. I've been reading some David Foster Wallace lately and the fundamentals of some of his work seem in line with Bojack - basically meta humor (postmodernism?) mixed with sincerity. It works well, but sometimes I'd prefer less meta - both in DFW's stuff and Bojack.
Rewatched
Ocean's Eleven - great movie.
Also got through like 8 eps of
Letterkenny. I really liked a lot of it but wasn't well and truly hooked. I'll try it again soon.
