Not sure how it works in the UK, but in USA#1, an assessment going up just means you have higher property taxes to pay. You don't actually get the increased value unless you sell your house and their assessment is accurate.

Yah getting a higher assessed value of your home isn't necessarily a good thing, if you feel that the assessed price isn't reflective of its actual value on the open market or if you simply do not plan to sell.

Except a 30% raise is literally extra money in my account that I can use to buy more goods and services.

A 30% increase in house value doesn't do me much good unless i'm changing cities or selling and not buying again, because all the other houses are also up 30% in value

I just got the Instagram app to check it out and it was basically a mirror image of what everyone on Facebook has posted today. Why are people posting pictures to Facebook and then to Instagram if all of the same people are on both. This is just so bazaar to me. Like are they worried they won't get enough likes on one or the other. I don't get it; I use Facebook as my photo storage and to share pictures of my kid with my family. I don't get taking selfies everyday either, especially if you are posting them to multiple social medias with all the same people.
