This isn't the exact comparison article I read before but contains all the same information and a bit more.

The Apple Watch is so ugly, I can't believe that a company famous for it's design came out with it. The LG Watch Urbane looks so much better (aesthetically speaking, I don't know how they compare as actual watches).

I need to buy a new Android Tab for work. Currently have an S5 via Verizon... If I get a Tab without cellular service is there a way to sink my S5 with the Tab, so that w/e I receive on my S5, I can easily transfer/sync with the Tab.

Lastly, what are my options for the best Android Tab currently on the market? I do like Samsung, should I stick with this brand. Will not be upgrading my S5 for at least another year... Also, is there much merit to buying a 4G capable Tab, without acctivating it with a cellural carrier? Is there much price difference b/w regular or 4G tabs?

Thanks in advance!

usually samsung tablet can be used as phone so that s a plus since you ll have a backup phone with your tablet if you have a 4G one. usually there s a decent markup tho so not sure it s worth it since you might never use it.

I ve heard only good stuff about the S serie tablet and they are not expensive

I dunno if you need it, but I have the note and the stylus is amazing. I wish I had it when I was in school because it would 100% replace pen & paper.

Verizon as of last week was having a promotion on the path as, so now might be a good time to pick one up. I got mine for $13 a month plus a $10 monthly line charge for data sharing.

Current best app for Twitter? Switched from Tweetdeck to Hootsuite when I was on iOS and the former got broken to the point it was unusable, now the latter's rolled out a major update which looks horrible, is less intuitive and has lost functionality.

I like Plume the best. It's the only twitter app I've found with good search functionality. They've been updating a lot lately too.

Love it. Have the 64gb as well. This will be my phone for awhile now after getting a new one every year for a few years (N4, N5 now 1+1)

I got the clear case along with the phone when I ordered it and it works just fine for me, haven't looked at any cases from other makers yet, probably should.

I also ordered the screen protector with the phone and it was an utter fail trying to put it on as the directions indicated. Been running without a screen protector since day 1 and am fine without one.

I have larger hands and this screen size is perfect for me and just fits in my front pocket. I really like this phone for overall specs and wouldn't trade it for an s6 or HTC M9 at all. Great, great phone.

For 2015 it'll be the

LG G4
S6/Note 5
M9
iPhone 6s/+s

and whatever Motorola offers. The G4 is going to be bigger, and a 5.5" screen is too much for me, so that removes two options right there. What's the buzz for 2015 Motorola? I've never paid attention to them. S6 looking to be quite a bit better than the M9 right now.

Wow so officially this thing has gotten unanimously good reviews. I'm pumped. Hope the OTA lollipop update is ready by the time it ships.

Android 5.1 goodies revealed in detail [gsmarena.com]
A few hours ago Google officially launched version 5.1 of its Android OS. The new release seems to come out of the blue, but it is already a fact with builds available for Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

It is the next natural step in the development of the OS and, unlike Android 5.0.1 and 5.0.2, which were more or less bug fixes and patches for various non-Nexus devices, the new build brings improvements and features to the table.

You don't need screen protection anymore. The plastic will scratch before your glass will. The only thing they're good for now is if you crack your screen the screen protector will keep it together.

I don't use a screen protector anymore. However, I do have a few minor scratches on my gorilla glass screen. I figure possibly from when I forgot and put my keys in the same pocket as my phone.

yeah I'm pretty careful about my G3 screen (Gorilla 3) and it has maybe a dozen very fine scratches and one moderate scratch. Definitely not what I would call scratch proof, but pretty good. 9 months of ownership

I used to use the plastic screen protectors but hated them. Affected the screen visually and the feel of it. When I got my S5 I decided to try a glass one so I got the best rated one on amazon ("Luvvitt" at the time). The only physical difference is it created a recess for the home button, which I actually prefer over the normal protruding button on the S5. Otherwise it feels and looks like a regular glass screen. I've had it on for 8 months and there are no signs of it peeling off or anything.

Haven't used a screen protector since my Nokia E71. The only time I've ever scratched gorilla glass is when my S3 got flung across a parking lot and slid for about 20 ft. The new gorilla glass is even sturdier. Screen protectors are obsolete IMO.

No buzz yet. The Moto X has been a September release so it's a ways away.

I should have elaborated that most hi end phones in the last couple of generations don't need them. If it scratched your glass your protector wouldn't have helped.

Probably a lot of bias on my part but every iPhone I see is cracked and my S3/Note 4 are basically tanks.

I've had an HTC with a naked screen since the Incredible. Dropped maybe a handful of times and the one time the screen broke it fell four feet right onto the screen on concrete. This is over 5 years I think?

My Droid Turbo (recent flagship) started getting minor scratches in just a few days without a screen protector, so I've been using one. My iPhone 3G and Samsung GS3 were both better about not picking up scratches, so who knows what's going on.

I've seen some stuff online that suggested it was the oleophobic coating that scratches, not the glass itself, which makes some sense to me.

Either way, putting a screen protector on hid the scratches and prevents new ones, so such is life.

I'm usually staunchly pro-case, but the Droid Turbo is the first phone I've been using without a case by default. Partly because it seems more rugged, partly because it's just a little too big with a case, and partly because I get a free replacement if the glass cracks in the first two years.
