Absolutely. Let us know how it is. I'd pick one up for that price if it's half decent.

On top of that, are there any launchers targeted to kids? Amazon has Freetime that acts as a launcher and is a subscription based service for kids books, apps, etc, but its not getting the best reviews so far.
I got my 5 year old boy the kids version of the fire, and he loves it. The deciding factor for me was the no questions asked 2 year warranty. I thought it was good before I got it, but now after a few months of use I value it much higher. I don't have to constantly remind him to wash his hands before using it, don't leaving it sitting in a precarious place, etc. And yes I know I should be teaching him to be a better steward of personal property, but I am procrastinating those lessons for another year or so.

I'm a huge fan of what Motorola is doing with their phones, and I especially like the Moto X - near-stock Android with actually useful additions, comfortable in-hand feel, great all-around speed, and the ability to customize the colors/materials. However, the relatively mediocre camera and battery were enough to cause me to buy the Droid Turbo instead (which is also Motorola).

Having said that, if you don't care about having the absolute best camera and you're a light to average user in terms of hours spent using the phone, the Moto X is an excellent choice. I'd def encourage you to customize yours on Moto Maker and make the phone your own.

how do you/he like the Freetime thing? I've heard mixed reviews. Like you have access to 5000+ books for kids, but there is no way to favorite them or categorize them. If he wants a certain book, he just has to scroll through them all until he finds it (obv alphabetized, but 5 year olds are gonna 5 year old)

This.

I've had it for a couple of weeks now and it's great. I'm an average user, I'd say, and the battery easily lasts a day (I have about 30% left when I go to bed at night). Same as with my previous iPhone 6.

Just updated it to Lollipop and that's nice too

Saw a promo just like that two days ago (here in Sweden), and when I checked their website on that same day, the offer was valid. However, when I checked to day it says I need an invite.

If anyone has an invite for a 16GB I'd happily accept it.

Best battery life I ever had was in the MoPho. Id get 2 full days easily, and pushed it close to 3 days on rare occasions. It's a shame they have not kept that up.

Have had the Nexus 6 64gb for a little over a week now. Some thoughts/observations:

- I was surprised at how sluggish it was until I discovered that it was due to force encryption. After decrypting, it is just a beast.

-Battery life was pretty much what I expected, but after some rooting and tweaking with a custom kernel, it is now exceptional.

-LMT launcher works great to make this phone easier to use with one hand.

-Lollipop is kinda ugly. Too much white on the menus, but developers have already begun to offer tweaked UIs.

Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. Can't really think of much to say but if anyone has any questions about the device I'd be happy to help as best as I can.

Battery question. Phone is now a few years old, and in the past week or so, battery is just crapping out. Usually at 50% by midday and this is with no use at all. Not pushing data (maybe hourly syncing on some apps), and battery use indicates biggest battery drainer is Android OS. Any thoughts/remedies, aside from "buy a new phone lol Razr M?"

I think batteries tend to crap out more gradually, so if it's just started happening a week ago, it's probably something else.

Did you install any new apps a week ago? Have you tried restarting your phone?

Looking for some help guys.

My 2 year contract with AT&T expired earlier this month, so I requested an unlock code which they gave me. However, I tried to unlock the device to no success. Fwiw, it looks like rooting might have caused an issue (from googling and from what the ATT rep was saying).

So I downgraded to 4.1.2 stock and have been getting the OTA updates. Do you think this should fix the problem or is there anything else I need to do to ensure the unlock is unsuccessful? Fwiw, you are only allowed a limited number of tries before the device permanently locks to the ATT network.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm not sure what device you have but I know the Galaxy S4 received an OTA update that made unlocking the bootloader impossible so to be safe I wouldn't accept any OTA upgrades.

5.01, bug fixes. I got it on my Nexus 4 yesterday.

After the update, my battery indicator app started acting flaky, I did a uninstall/install and that fixed it.

Oh, I didn't know that, but not sure if that applies to my device, ATT Note 2, SGH-i317. Thanks though.
