I don't think you've been able to reply to texts from your PC until now (you always could get PC notifications for SMS). Am I wrong?

If I buy a Verizon grandfathered unlimited data plan off eBay is Verizon going to force me onto a tiered plan at some point? I know I have to pay full price to upgrade my phone.

They might. There is nothing stopping them. Or they'll 'accidentally' mess up your plan and claim they can't get it back.

That would definitely suck. Just won the auction though so fingers crossed.

Well the guy that sold it to me apparently knows his ****. I was conferenced in during the aol to my account not understanding 80% of the conversation. It's working and if anything goes wrong he said to call him. Pretty excited!

OnePlus Two is now official.

I was hoping for a 128 gb version but I think I'll still end up giving it a try.

God damn this looks like a perfect phone. http://www.androidcentral.com/heavy-..._medium=dlvrit

I stand by my LG G4 decision over the S6, but I feel like there's gonna be a few phones over the next 6 months that make me regret jumping the gun...

To clarify:

* Looks beautiful
* 3 stage alert mode toggle
* 5.5 in display = my perfect size
* USB-C (pro for me, maybe con for others)
* 1920x1080 screen with 3300 mAh battery seems GOAT (lol lots of pixels)
* 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage options - awesome
* OxygenOS - interesting, probably rather have Android, probably very easy to root though
* <$400...

I always thought the +1 was Android; it's not? They have their own app store? Thought I read something it's easier to get an invite this year?

Motorola event Summary - supposedly their cameras are better this yr, we'll see:
Moto Style is 5'7" QHD, 3,000mah battery. 3GG RAM. Bands somehow compatible on all US carriers. Only $400. Seems like a good option if you like bigger phones. Not sure I do.
Moto Play is 5'5" FHD. Sick 3,630mah battery. 2GB RAM. Slower snapdragon. I think $300+. Was gonna get this until it was confirmed not available in US, lol wtf.
New Moto G is still 5" 720p but has 16GB/2Ram option, 2,470mah battery w/ motomaker & Moto Display, water resistant & w/ LTE enabled on the initial release for once. That's actually pretty sweet for $220.

I think the 1 was CM, but not sure. Either way, I don't THINK diff OS implies diff app store (e.g. custom ROMs). I would guess it still uses Google Play.

i'd be wary of oneplus2 and wait a little bit. with the first edition, they had major problems. not for everyone, but for a lot of users. and some (eg touchscreen issues) are still not solved (for everyone) after 15 month.
on the other hand: it's obviously really great value and for many people it worked (nearly) flawlessly.

I think you're way overblowing issues with the OPO. It was really smooth for like 99%

Really wondering which one to go with between OPT and Moto X Style.

It seems very strange to call some of these features "OS" features. Like the hardware stuff - the alert toggle and configurable buttons - could EASILY be implemented in any Android-based phone, no? I could be wrong here, maybe this is the difference between "TouchWiz" (or any other skin) and Android?

My 1+1 is driving me crazy right now. Was flawless until couple of days ago. Now the mic isn't working. I can have a conversation on speaker fine but the normal mic doesn't work. There was a fix if rooted in the forums but I went through 1+ service and upgraded to oxygenOS. Still same issue. Not sure of next step. Very frustrating as this is to say the least the primary function of the device.

Motorola announced a few phones today:

-Moto G - the 3rd generation of their budget phone that has very well reviewed, $179, 5" 720p screen
-Moto X Style (aka Moto X Pure in the US) - the successor to the popular Moto X line, but this time they fixed the two major shortcomings, namely the battery and camera. $400 unlocked, works on all US/international carriers. 5.7" 1440p screen. Camera is reviewing very well right now, just behind the Galaxy S6, and the battery is now 3000mAh, way up from the previous 2300mAh battery on the 2014 Moto X.

Some are calling The Moto X Style/Pure a OnePlus Two killer already given the surprisingly low price, flagship specs, and large battery. Also has Quick Charge and NFC, which the OnePlus Two doesn't.

They also announced the Moto X Play which is not available in the US - sort of a midrange large-screen phone. 5.5" 1080p with 3600mAh battery, price tbd.

What do you guys use nfc for? It's cool in theory but I've never used mine. I feel like I'm missing out.

There's not really any such thing as subsidized anymore. You're paying for the phone one way or another. Either instalments for the full price, or "subsidized" + higher plan cost.

I have a grandfathered plan. Can use an upgrade with no change in monthly payment. Looks like AT&T does carry Motos definitely using my upgrade in September for the Style.

Looking at it now, specs really don't seem that great. Pretty standard. What makes it great could be factoring in the price, but on phone quality alone I just don't see it - everything looks right around average for 2015. I don't see any single awesome spec, and the 5.7" display could turn a lot of people (myself included) off.

Also +1 for lolNFC. Probably some fun nerd things to do, but it's never seemed really useful to me. Especially considering tasker.
