It's a rule of thumb.
If x is your number of outs, you have 2x% chances of hitting one of them by the turn and 4x% by the river.

However, for more than 12 outs these rules lose some accuracy.

Your real equity is:
1-(31/47)*(30/46) = 57%
Given the pot odds you need 2550/7550 = 34% equity

So yes the call is mathematically correct.

1500:2350 pot odds means you need 39% equity and not 63% (which is an absurd amount anywway, you never need more than 50% equity to make a call).

I'm sure these have been answered 10x itt, but:

-What do you think are the most important probabilities to know/memorize?

-Should I be continuing to play when I am 300bb deep (in 6max)? How should I be adjusting? Do any hands increase in equity? I tend to leave the table pretty quickly to "protect" my winnings, but have a feeling I'm making the wrong move here.

-What are some good sites for 6max-specific strategy articles? Right now, I'm only really learning strategy from grinderschool videos, this forum and the occasional book.

Thanks

iI have about 10k fpp on stars i think which is worth at least a ticket to big 101$ (6400 fpp) but i never play on stars and i need silverstar. Does anyone know how to get silverstar asap? Oh and i also am close to a vip goal or whatever it was which was worth $50.

Or alternatively sell my fpps somehow? (Very preferably).

I cant rly play poker much more and thats why i need a solution

Thanks

You can achieve silverstars playing around 5k hands on 25nl for example, but idk if you re a cash player. You can buy cash bonuses of 10$ for around 1-1.2k Fpps if i dont remember wrong (since you are bronzestar), but the ratio fpp/$ that way sucks.

If you get the silverstar status there is a "better" (less bad) bonus of 20$. my advise is that you grind the silverstatus wherever you feel comfortable and get cash bonuses or tournament tickets. Your best option would be to grind hypers 6max sats to sunday storm for 235 fpps each, and cancel the entry to get 11T$ and then sell to sbdy the T$ for normal cash. You would get a great ratio even having 0 skill in these, and 4-tabling them you will be done in an hour or two.

Cheers,
Sipox

FPP are not transferable.

10,000 FPP is worth $160 at $.016/FPP - Generally considered the going rate for regs. As a bronze/silver the value is significantly lower.

As a micro player that's a great boost to your bankroll if you're playing or need an incentive to play but it's not really a lot of money.

If you truly don't have time for poker then I'd suggest just earning 1 FPP per year (so they don't expire) and bank them until you come back to the game. If you decide to take the game seriously again, you'll have a nice little bonus waiting for you.

Go on pokerstars "Event" tab and you'll see step games going on there

That ticket you got is for live games so you'll need to play step 6 online and if you win, you get seat for live tournament

Will 4 tabling 10NL zoom for 3 hours possibly make me silverstar? Or does it take more time cus its only 10NL?
***** Official Dumb Questions Thread **** Quote
01-02-2014 , 01:54 PM
When I was 4 tabling zoom I was getting about 40VPP an hour. It can vary a fair bit based on play style. I'd imagine you're looking at 10 hours + though. Even 4 tabling 25nl is going to be like 5 hours.

If I was you I'd just play 235FPP 6max hypers. Or if you want to GAMBOL play two 4500FPP sat hypers and finish the rest off on the 235FPP ones.

But to play the 4500fpp u need to have more than bronzestar no?

I mean like yeah i would very much like to gamble the 10k fpp away asap cus i never play on stars but
1.im bronze
2. Its sats? Sats to what? Sunday million etc or what?
3. do they have any value per fpp or is it much better grinding till i get silver and can just purchase 6400FPP big $101+ 4000FPP $51 tourneys

You play the sats,

eg the 235fpp:

Place in top 2 out of 6, get a ticket for the sunday storm. Unregister from the storm, get $T11.

Sell the $T for $ via the thread in MTTc.

Cash out $.

Rub $ on (you get the idea)

Lot of variance in those sats, but you should place in around 33% of them.

Oh ok i understand. Well if i play those sats will all my 10k fpps and get say 2 entries for sunday storm, is there any value in actually playing the sunday storm as well? I understand that its pretty tough players but i think i am.good enough or at least close to breakeven.
But are those sunday storms good payout per FPP? and also when u get a ticket can u play them without being silverstar?(which u have to be if u buy them directly)

Or am i better in just buying them myself instead for 6k fpp? (If it doesnt matter much then i guess ill just play the sats as they dont need more than bronze star)

Thank u very much.

I think you re mistaking the sunday storm with the sunday million. The sunday storm is a 20k+ field more or less with a 11$ buy-in, so playing sats won't give you just 2 entries, it should give you more than 10 entries.

As just said, you will expect to end up with ~13 $T11 tickets on average which is $T141. (be prepared to only win 5, or to win 25 though, lots of variance in 10bb hypers !)

Up to you if you actually play the storm, I probably would.

You don't need any particular VIP level to play any of the sunday tournaments, you just need the buyin with $ or $T.

Oh ok, well i dont want to sit around playing 2k field. So i guess i play the hyper sats and simply unregister from all my wins to sunday storm. With all the $T can i play like a single $150 tourney or smth or what can i do with all the $T?

Thanks for helping me btw!

As it has been stated before, you can just sell the T$ in the MTTc, and get fresh $$$ at a 9x.xx% rate.

Ok thx guys!

1 last thing tho. Is it only sunday storm sats that has best value to reg for or is there more to register for as only bronze status which goes very fast and has decent value? (to get these T$ that is.)
And when u win the sats am i sinply going to just unregister from the sunday storm to get my $T or how do i get them? (I assume u wont get any $T if u play the actual sunday storms)

Storm sats (235fpp) are the ones most regs play. They are over fast, and over a reasonable sample you should be near to the 33% expectation.

You can register for almost any FPP satellite though, there are only a very few that are restricted on VIP status, and those are normally satellites to other VIP tourneys/freerolls that there wouldn't be a $T value in unregistering.

When you win one, select 'registered in tournaments', or at the main stars window ctrl-R, select the sunday storm and click the unregister button. This will give you the $T11.

Hello

I want to ask for help with PokerTracker, My stats on opponents are always messed up, so I need manually to switch them over, but it is hard when I play multitables to do it for every single table. Anyone knows how to fix this ?

Does a5 have a better chance to make a straight all in pre than A2-A4?

Thanks.
