I've been playing internet poker for a few years and have seen many hands. I never really took it seriously enough to read books and go on blogs etc..i managed to become a break even player(not that thats good)
Recently I have started to try and take it more seriously....started reading books, blogs and articles etc...
There is so much out there that I am confused as to how I should start. Just based on the fact that I have seen so many hands by playing for years I don't feel I am a beginer, but also don't feel I am intermediate.
Because I have seen so many diiferent scenarios(hands) for playing so long my play has been based on experience...instinct.

Now I am trying to apply Poker Theory, Statistics, basic odds...etc to my game.

What should I be reading/ doing.
My interest are tournament and cash games should I be learning both at once or focusing on just one?

If you play micro stakes I would read Verneers pdf and use that starting hand chart and then read Harrington´s 6-max book and use the strategy against different player types written there.

I've seen it a lot when people want to state that they agree with the post. Same like "QFT" (Quoted for truth), +1, "This" etc.

But I've seen it also being used like KingSpew did. Usually with the answers bolded though.


- It's better to focus on one game + either cash or tourney. At least for me.
- Don't try to learn everything at once.
- Check out the sticky's / strategy archives in the relevant subforum.
- Similar questions have been asked several times in the BQ Forum. Search for the threads. There should be a lot of good links & hints in those threads.

In General
- get HEM or PT3
- play fewer tables
- drop down in stakes
- follow strict bankroll management
- participate actively in the forum

can someone please explain what cold calling is and when i should be doing it?

Cold calling refers to a situation where you haven't invested money in the pot and you're facing a raise and call that raise "cold".

For example: someone limps, next player raises, now you "cold call" the raise". Or: somebody raises, next player reraises, now you "cold call" the reraise.

the rules state that you have to have had an account for 6months and that the account has to be in good standing to be able to post in the marketplace (among other guidelines obv), next month will be my sixth month but, I have 3 old infactions, two for trying to hijack marketplace threads and one for posting a pic that had the f word in it.

So after next month, will my account be in "good standing" or does it all depend on the opinion of the moderater when I request access to the marketplace from the control panel?

I play in Pokerstars SNG 180 Man 2,50 $ Turbo. I play 5 tables. Im very tight player, meybe this is very bad for turbo, bad i want do only Right moves/ actions from me.

Today, when i played, i get hard situation for me, when i dont no, it's right, or not. Last hand before break:

If you are small blind and it gets folded to you, pushing KTs should be an automatic YES if your stack is 9BB.

Well, i have been a member for a few months, just have never made a post. This is my very first one. I find that the PM feature is ok to protect from spammers. But for someone who is interstead in doing a advertisement agreement, should have a easier form of contact. I have used the Advertisement link, and did get a response. But i just would find life alot easier, if i would be able to message the moderators and folks in charge of this. Just my thoughts.No hard feelings.
