Yeah I'm Danish.

If you only hold an amount for private use (you aren't pushing), you'll get a warning. I think you'll get fined if they keep on catching you. And the police really aren't searching for it.

I remember a party I was at when I was 15. Basically we rented a community center cheaply and threw a huge party with 60ish 14-16 year olds. During the night (friday) the police came by a couple of times because we were to loud/drunk and whatever and told us to keep it down.

Then saturday morning they came by again and I was in the kitchen with some guys who were smoking. When the police came they hid the pipe in the cereal container. As the police entered they clearly sniffed in the odor and asked if anybody were smoking. It was denied and the policeman commented: "Kids are boring these days", looked in the cereal container and said: "that's more like it".

It was a good party, but needless to say we were promply blacklisted from ever renting that place again.

We were coming up from the very very southern tip of Texas. About 100 miles north of the Mexican border we hit this patrol compound. So, kinda. I know I've hit them in California, too.

So, fun story. Roommate and I are driving home from a beautiful vacation on the beach. Life is good.

Border Patrol finds the 4/20 in our car. Life is no longer good.
So next time Texas beach > LA > AR > OK > KS > CO > UT > (maybe AZ) > NV > Las Vegas.

But seriously, with all the recent news from AZ, you'd have thought that Border Patrol would be too busy to bother about two USA citizens (right?) with a small (right?) amount of "4/20"

Having said that, one of the most nerve racking 30 minutes I ever had was a few years ago when driving from Big Bend NP (right on the Mexico border) to Marathon, I was followed by Border Patrol for what seemed like forever. And I had nothing illegal in the car, and a green card and my passport, but still I was paranoid. I guess my NY plates in TX must have been suspicious.

LOL.
Yeah, we're two twenty-something white kids both born and raised in Minnesota driving in a moderately new looking car. But as far as the incriminating items, it was not much at all, a little less than an eighth. We were completely honest about the whole thing once they straight up asked us, as we knew that they knew already (damn drug dogs with your smug drug dog barks...).

With the millions of people in the front room there that were either caught smuggling illegal immigrants or illegal immigrants themselves, you'd have thought that we were too small of fish to fry, but I guess not.

On the other hand, I now have a mug shot. This will make a good story much, much further down the line.

I was thinking this too ..... wtf.

But lesson learned .... if you're transporting illegal drugs leave them in the trunk .... and don't have used them or drank beforehand. They can't search without probable cause (or if you give them consent [in most states]).

Oh .... well the drug dogs would have given them probable cause anyway. I guess around the Mexican border drug dogs may be kinda normal (but what do they do? Just drive around with them in the car?). I don't think I've ever seen one just around where I am.

I didn't mean that to come off as harsh or anything.

Talk to the prosecutor. Maybe he'd do something for you. If you happen to have a family member or friend or somebody who is a lawyer see if he'll go with you. Otherwise maybe consider looking for one depending on what you are facing (maybe not if you aren't facing much ... obviously a judgment call).

If you've never been in trouble before maybe the prosecutor would do something for you ... I don't know how strongly people feel against drugs in Texas and how strong a stance they take.

Misdemeanor generally won't be all that a big deal though further down the line. You'll be alright. Just don't get caught with it again.

1. Between my wife and myself we probably lost a couple of grand all up
2. Having said wife with me leaves me with no hooker/blow stories.
3. If I had actually known I was going to go there I might have asked for some pie , but it was a surprise that my wife arranged for our 10th wedding anniversary/my birthday.I didn't know where our final destination was until we went to check in for the Vegas flight in LA.

You all are missing a lot, IMO. ATF is awesome.

And to really appreciate it, you've got to read the whole thread.

i read ATF all the time, it's pretty funny.

and i saw the gordon brown thing on the news at lunchtime. it's not much but the british press just jump all over it and sensationalise it because they have nothing better to do.

Sheriff Joe is much worse to get caught with bud by. Feel very fortunate you weren't in my neck of the woods. And you would think they would be too busy chasing illegals but nickel-bag Joe has been chasing illegals illegally (lol) for years. They just gave him permission now

To avoid the Drugs dogs, pack the "substance" in a bag of ground coffee, and then seal the bag. It works, trust me, I'm a hippy.

Spoiler:
and it's what most of the big boys do to avoid the dogs as well

PSA to whydowe:

According to pokercast ep 118 there have been ZERO real entries in the win a date with bunner and thus the way i figure it you are a walk up start. being in vegas this seems like epic potential.

now according to the Mike and Adam you dont even have to send in an 'application' you just have to send Mike and Adam a PM and you're a good shot at a free night out. you could use your 'drug running' story as an opener

do it and forever become a legend (well at least 15 mins of fame). gogogo

from the PSA thread....

It's time to start soliciting NC thread title noms, IMO.
