Same here. Traded my 5 litecoins for bitcoin when it was @$96 (oops)
Then traded back bitcoin for 3 litecoins @$146 (yay!)

This is sorta fun but reminds me too much of 1999 .com stocks.

i wonder how much of an effect coinbase is having on the litecoin pump?

told a friend about bitcoin about 2-3 months ago, directed him towards coinbase, i got a message saying he thought bitcoin was to expensive so he bought a big bag of litecoin at $80/coin.

None? Litecoin has been on coinbase since it was $7. Like 8 months ago.

New people buying in now go on Coinbase see BTC at 17K and LiteCoin at 300, they are buying LiteCoin because its cheaper. There is a $60 spread between Coinbase and Bitfinex right now.

Do bitfinex always delay withdrawals this much? 12 hours now "Processing" but they have not even sent it (eth withdrawal). Reading it could be days before they send it.

That is quite a bit for a btc withdraw especially if btc gets higher. Do other exchanges charge less fees? The fees i read are 0.25 percent which i read is very cheap.

However, some people mentioned about binance, hitbtc, poloniex and crytopia.

They said binance is the best because the fees are 0.1 percent but if you own binance coin or something like that, fees are 0.05% which makes it even cheaper than bittrex. I had thought bittrex was the number 1 exchange for altcoins. So it isn't? I read that bittrex and poloniex was the best ones but now binance is number 1? Also another thing. But say you want to buy altcoins with btc. If an an altcoin cost less on binance than bittrex but say the usd rate

Would like to use an example of a coin. Say you want to buy powerledger with bitcoin.

Say to buy powerledger on bittrex its buy price is 0.00003328btc or 0.57

Say to buy powerledger on binance its buy price is 0.00003328btc or 0.53

To sell btc on bittrex is 16281

To sell btc on binance is 15877.43

Bittrex

16281/0.57 = 28563 powerledger x 0.025% fee = about 71. 28563-71 = 28492 powerledger

Binance

15877.43/0.53 = 29957 x 0.10% fee = about 30. 29957 - 30 = 29927

29927-28492= 1435 power ledger difference?

Thus if you spend 1 btc to buy power ledger, its better on binance as oppose to bittrex because you get 1435 more.. or about $817.95 more?

Can someone here rank the top 5 altcoin exchanges? Obviously if it was btc/eth, it would be gdax and gemini i assume?
Pauly your mistake is the conversion to USD, if the BTC/POWER is the same it doesn't matter if Power is $1 USD or $1000 USD you straight up exchanging BTC->POWER.

You need to do a straight compare with after fees how many Power you will be getting for your 1 BTC or whatever.

I really hope people aren't blindly buying alts because they think bitcoin is to expensive but I'm are some people are.

I don't know how much volume coinbase processes or if they operate anywhere but the U.S. but litecoin has seen 7B in volume in the last day. I'd have a hard time believing it's due to people randomly going to coinbase for bitcoin says **** it and buying litecoin instead.

a lot of it--I'd guess 2/3rds or so.

Anyway, I've seen this run in alts before, gonna end badly for at least half of them but kudos to all who are smarter than me. I dumped most of my alts for BTC awhile ago, that seemed brilliant till this week or so...

Casuals think they have to buy a full one, so yeah they definitely would buy LTC instead. They have no idea what they're doing, they heard "this **** is going to the moon" on the news and so here we are.

GDAX (coinbase) volume for ltc is over 5 billion in the last 24 hours, so it seems like they're doing the majority of it

I’ve heard quite a few people over the last few weeks talk about bitcoin, majority of them say they feel the price is to high or it’s “too late” to invest. Whilst knowing absolutely nothing about crypto currencies.

I do think there’s lots of people jumping in trying to “get rich” and buying blindly. Coinbase just so happens to be where most people that are new to crypto go.

I think bitcoin cash could 2-3x in value if it hits coinbase as it is rumoured to do so

It is on their deposit options, skrill too.

They sems legit to me. Have app on android store and app store too.

But only sell BTC and wallet for it. Nothing more.

Maybe for someone who has a lot of money on skrill/neteller would work.

Fee is 0.00228 to withdraw (std priority)

Ironic that Bitcoin futures have driven the publicity for this run, yet have had several friends and family who own zero crypto ask me how to buy ETH and LTC through coinbase, but none have asked about Bitcoin.

Follows the logic from comma,s post.

I read advice here and decided to 'HODL' and buy also bought ETH and LTC as hedge against BTC going down.

This is crazy growth. Tempting not to shove all your savings into these coins. Not sure if I should be happy or sad that coinbase and gemini make it hard to deposit large amounts

Other than the last couple of days litecoin was almost always correlated to bitcoins price changes. ETH is a different story.

I'd be more concerned if I had a large amount on Coinbase in the event you need to quickly sell.

Man coinbase sucks so bad. Tried to send some ETH to Binance. After 6 hours the damn transaction is still pending. Of course the coin I wanted to buy is up 10% from the time I initiated the transfer.

Hi there. Can you tell me exactly where in my calculation its wrong? So with 1 btc and those rates i posted, am i getting pretty close to powerledger on both bittrex and binance?

So there is a 0.25 percent fee on bittrex. Well if you sell btc for usd on bittrex, that would be easy to calculate as its 0.25 percent x btc selling price. But when you are selling it for an altcoin like powerledger... how am i suppose to calculate it?

Would i divide the 1/0.0000xxx btc = ?

Then take that ? - either 0.25% on bittrex or 0.10% on binance?
