Is this really why a very active thread did not have one post for three days?
There are probably more of us than you think. I don't know how many people are "very religious", but in the US you're talking about a pool of many millions of people from which to draw poker players. I heard a stat a couple days ago that there are 20 million evangelical Christians in the United States. Certainly there are many other groups of very religious people in the United States among Jews, mainstream protestants, Roman Catholics, Mormons and other groups.
You also have to consider that families often get together for holidays like Christmas and Easter, whether they are religious or not. For example, even given a family with no religious beliefs at all, a lot of poker players won't be playing on Christmas morning--they will be opening presents with their families.
