Poker Edge 5 won't load any more since the PP update.
Just crashes shortly after launching PP from it.

Was this by design?
I imagine the PE team is already on this, but as it's subscription based it's very annoying.

Yes, but it's also listed on the PE page as a supported site.
As someone with a background in product liability, if PP were to ever suspend an account for using PE them there's no way the product would still be around or at the very least be marketing itself towards PP players. I use it on a number of sites (I don't really use PP) but noticed when launching it after the software update it wouldn't load.

PE runs undetected by most Poker sites and PP is known to turn a blind eye to these sort of things so it's hardly a big deal IMO. I find it to be a vastly superior tool (obviously) for multi-tabling over anything else out there.

Your logic makes no sense. Stars suspend botting accounts all the time, it doesn't mean there aren't still botting products for Stars. If it runs undetected then they aren't turning a blind eye, they just haven't found a way to stop it from working yet. And it looks like they have.

I hope they have found a way to block it. If they have, what are you doing to do - sue PE? It says below the supported sites to check the Terms & Conditions.

+1. I got sick of waiting for hours for the update to finish, so I won't play for awhile. One thing I noticed is that I had to re-customize my modern table.

1 minute is not enough time to always catch the add on when multitabling/multi siting, and ditto 30 seconds to rebuy............ and its so tilting to miss

As a Poker Edge user (for the record I also use Holdem Manager and Indicator, both of which are allowed on Party, and I only play big tournaments on party and don't bother with PE) is there any record of anyone ever getting their account suspended on Party for using it? When I subscribed I read that Stars was firing off warning letters to PE users they caught, but I never read a single post from someone complaining that Party had warned or suspended them.

Is this something they actually enforce?

I know PE advises never to run PP on your computer if you don't launch it with PE or they can detect PE, surely that has happened before though...

I run PE and Holdem Manager because Manager has superior analysis abilities, but the HUD on PE is so much better and more accurate than anything else (for obvious reasons). Indicator I use because I got it free and find my starting hand selection is right in line with what it suggests. It also helps me not miss obvious hands my opponents may have or be drawing to when multi-tabling requires quick decisions.

If it's on the banned list then even if they can't detect it and/or don't ban people for using it, don't be surprised if they implement measures to stop the HUD working etc
