Looking for a fellow micro bovada player to do some 6 max or full ring or HU sessions with, basically cash games only. At least twice a month ( or more if your game ), we do an hour/hour session where we screen share and talk about poker and the session together. One hour one person playing and another hour for the other person. It doesn't have to be back to back hours, we can do one person one time and another person another, and we don't have to limit it to an hour if you want. I'm very flexible.

I won't judge you personally, I don't care if you're LAG/nit/tight or a maniac as long as you have a desire to be a winning player and are working on your game.

I'm a winning live player, and I play online every day, but online I only clock an hour or so a day, so my sample size is low and I can't say if I'm a winner at any stake or game online. I'm also experimenting a lot with different games ( FR/6max/and HU). I try and spend about 15-20% of my time studying poker as well.

PM if you're interested.

I got an "Exclisove cash bonus" offer in the mail. It says I have to register to get it, when I click on the offer it brings me to a page where I have to enter my account and password. Is this a legit offer? Seems sketchy they ask for my password off their client.

As long as it's the official bovada website(probably is), then yea it's legit. They always ask you to login for the promos.

I think it is only for people who don't play more than 300 points already. It is good bonus tho. You got to register for it on their site. You have to sign in so they know who you are.

Is that how they decide on the bonuses? If you are already clearing them they don't send them but they send them to those who are not clearing the requirements weekly so they will play more?

That doesn't make sense because neither I, my father or my brother have ever gotten a bonus. They never use their accounts, I use mine all the time.

Yep, you now must type into the note box to mark them as a color. What a stupid change.

Maybe we'll be lucky and it was inadvertent. If you tag the player, then click the Chat tab, the tag is saved, just not displayed on the table. Useless, I know, but it tells me they screwed up somewhere in their validation routine.

Has there ever been mention of Bovada implementing two step password verification?

Also, has Bovada ever made a statement regarding player funds being segregated?

Do you know what segregated players funds means? Can't imagine why anyone would make the comment you just made. You know, maybe i have a lot of money on the site and want to make sure i'm secure. Been out of money from my roll due to the FTP situation before...

And checks were being processed quite well on FTP as well. I'd like to know my funds are safe and segregated if there is any interruption. You know like by the USA government or anyone else seizing funds/assets etc.

P.S. i do feel safe on Bovada, but can't hurt to ask. Would rather know now rather than before it's too late.

I'm well aware of what it means. I don't think I'd trust an answer given by any site outside of stars though. My suggestion would be to ask an affiliate like Kahntrutahn if you don't get an answer here.

You and lvcjarrett both have valid points and the answer lies in the middle

What I mean by that is apparently they do claim they keep player funds segregated. This get's brought up every few months since black friday ... and if I remember correctly, the last time this was brought up Bobo the mod posted a bodogbecky response that basically claims its segregated. So, officially the answer is yes to that question.

However, can you prove it? Are they going to provide proof? No and No.

Also, as I have pointed out in the past "segregated" can mean tons of things. They could very well keep the player funds segregated from corporate coffers ... but what if its segregated into high yield energy bonds that earn 8% a year that they keep and you take all the risk. A REAL example of this was that sports betting site where they kept the "segregated" funds in a cyprus bank because they were earning a better rate (im sure tax issues too). Well that bank went out of business, took all the money, and the site went under. Also, money that is segregated can still be stolen at a later point unless they don't have access to it. So "segregated" doesn't mean much, it only means they aren't dipping into it to pay corporate expenses (at this time) ... doesn't mean its safe or insured or anything (which it might be, but those are important questions)

So in a way lvcjarrett has a point... does it really matter? If they told you they keep it 100% safe in accounts inaccessible by management, held my a trusted 3rd party, and pinky sweared that if they ever get shut down you would get your money back... would it make any difference to you?

You have to understand that there is always a real possibility (on every US facing offshore site) that you could lose your entire balance overnight by something you have no control over. That is just reality, and everyone who has serious money on here should understand that.

The real, and practical, answer is to just do the math on what you think you will earn and how much you need online. Get your break-even time frame and decide if it is worth it. I did mine around nov 2011 and this is what I determined. If I left x online, and had win rate y, it would take me 4.5 months to earn the principal back. [if you want to get real technical you should also include an opportunity cost of what you could be doing to earn money besides playing poker, or how you would of invested that bank roll). Anyway, After 4.5 months (assuming I only kept exactly x online and took the rest off) it would be profitable for me even if I lost my entire prinicipal. 4.5 months was roughly my break-even. That was roughly 40 months ago. Although during those few months I did question if what i was doing was smart, it turned out to be an extremely profitable and good decision. However, it was very possible that 3 months in I could have lost the entire balance ... but that was the risk I was willing to take.

Sorry if that didn't make much sense, typed it while playing and drinking too much coffee.. but if you can decipher the meaning it should be valuable to anyone at a similar decision point

edit: Also, don't hold your breath on the two point identification. Your lucky the reload button works. Seriously.
