Why stop at sex offenders? It wouldn't kill their image if they had a convicted drug smuggler or murder or rapist or thief? Where do you draw the line? And why just sex offenders? In each case of crime they change a person's life for the worse or sometimes take a life. EFPL(Epic Fail Poker League) basically told this guy if you don't leave we will out you in front of everyone. Really??? Why not out Cheno Rheem for what he did to those poker players? It is such a double standard it is ridiculous. I am sure he does have legal options and if he does sue them and win I hope the kids he hurt get the money.

Sounds like the Epic Fail League blackmailed this pedo and got away with it. If he was a smart person (which obviously he's not) he could have called the NV gaming commission, they would have came to the palms within an hour or so and settled the dispute.

I don't think he has any recourse now since he took the $1500 refund but let this be a lesson to everyone who is thinking about playing in an EFL event, if you sat in to a major or win one, they can blackmail you or blatantly steal your winnngs.

If it really was due to his criminal nature then a lot of the other pros should be similarly inspected. I really feel he should be given 20k or the seat, even though I would hate to see poker damaged even more.

Who cares what his offences were. This is either in their rule book or it isn't. If it's not, he's done nothing wrong in entering the tournament and should be allowed to play, or given his $20k back as a minimum.

I have no clue what you have against this guy personally(unless you were one of the boys involved or molested yourself by another person) but if you like should we start digging up information on you also? Who is to say in 1-5 years you don't do something stupid and you find yourself with a felony on your permanent record(vehicular manslaughter because you were on your cell phone while driving and killed someone as an example...) which I am sure you will regret BUT someone doesn't like you and post all of your information stating you are a bad person and we should out you for what you are.

Posting his past in another thread THEN posting his Facebook page on here for people to harass him comes across as a personal vendetta against this individual. Is he a scumbag? YES! He deserved the punishment he received for his crime and hopefully he will get the help he needs to deal with his illness so he will not hurt anyone else. But are you willing to "out" the rest of the known convicted felons in the poker world since you started this trend?

The man deserve his $20,000 at the minimum and I hope he sues the hell out of the EFPL for this incident. You can't pick and choose what criminal can and cannot play in your tournament if you haven't set up rules to determine this in the first place.

I DO think there is a HUGE difference between dealing a few ounces of marijuana, not paying your gambling debts and RAPING A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL or a 6 YEAR OLD BOY.

You know what other criminals do in prison to convicted child rapists? Believe me, you don't ever want to find out.

He should receive equal treatment as any other child rapist, of course.

You can't remove him for being a sex offender, but you could easily remove him if he lied on an application form about being convicted for a felony. If he checked "No", and they learned later he was, then poof, forfeiture.

I can't believe the number of e-mails and messages that I have received from all over the world regarding this "Epic" mess that I now find myself in.
I thank all (well most) of you for your support. The number of calls that I’ve received from people like yourselves, along with several professional Poker players and Celebrities that I’ve play with in various Charity Poker events is pretty overwhelming. Several of them have advised me on the legal issues and my right to take legal action, but I’m not going to take any immediate action against EPIC Poker or against Federated. I have discussed these matters with an attorney for EPIC (Stephen Martin of Los Angeles), and I’m sure that they will 'eventually' (with continued pressure from all of you) do the right thing.

For right now, I’d like all of the Poker players, and all of the Poker fans out there, to continue to support Federated and the EPIC Poker League. Although I do not agree with their recent decision regarding my situation, anger and bitterness towards them will only bring things to a level of immaturity that is best left behind, as it would serve no useful purpose to anyone.

Most of you have been very kind and supportive, while a very few chosen to vent a little anger towards me and my past. No problem. This is America, and we all have a right to our opinions.

I want to thank most of you for your kind words. Still, many of you have questions regarding the circumstances surrounding my 1991 conviction, and frankly, I have no problem answering those questions, or any other questions that you may have about me, my conviction, my rehabilitation, my Poker career, the charities that I support, or anything else that you have on your mind.

I have therefore set up a special telephone number to receive all of your calls. By calling this number, you may leave your comments, suggestions, ideas, or anything else that you would like to say. I think you need to use your common sense. I don't think it's alright to group thiefs into the same category as child rapists or baby murderers.

Just imagine if he raped your little daughter, would you still like to ship him your chips after a suckout? What about if he killed your mother?

Michael, congrats on the win. I really hope Epic does the right thing and pays you the 18.5k they owe you. I'd be curious to know the exact circumstances of how you ended up with only 1500. Did you have to sign something to agree to it? Did you feel pressured by the casino? Was it EPL's decision or the casinos? Anything you want to add?

So you have no issues with having someone who killed another human being at your poker table? What if he decided to follow you out to your car after the tournament that you just won? How safe would you feel? How about the drug dealer who helped ruin lives by supplying illegal drugs? Would it make you feel good knowing he won a tournament so he could buy more coke or crack? How about the guy who stole from an individual or company and ruin lives who had saved for years? So you have no issues with these people right? Quit with this holier-than-thou act selective thinking.

To Divita 99% of the people ITT do not like or support the EPL, by you coming on here and asking people to support them will probably turn that number to 100%. Nobody is gonna follow you, you don't have any "fans" just people who want to see the right thing done in this situation.

A similar thing happened last week in a crappy UK gameshow that is based around gambling. The winner of the top prize of £1m turned out to have served time for assault. When the tabloid papers got wind of this the people running the gameshow tried to strip him of his winnings, but failed since they didn't have a legal leg to stand on. They were already aware of the conviction when they let him on the show but tried to claim he deceived the producers by claiming to have attacked a man, when in fact his victim was female.

If someone stole a car and paid his dues by sitting in prison or paying it back, or someone dealing some crack to someone who consumes the drug by their own choosing, I would have LESS issue with it than with someone who killed someone's son or daughter. That's correct.

Are you leveling me or are you truly serious and don't get the difference between raping a small innocent child and stealing a car?
