Someone may have posted but I got this from Tilt where I keep very little funds compared to Stars.

Dear Golfing_Stud,

Unfortunately, due to recent actions by the U.S. government, Full Tilt Poker is currently unable to facilitate 'real money' play, deposits or withdrawals by players based in the United States.

Please rest assured that player accounts remain safe and secure and our technical and legal teams are working to have your money returned to you as soon as possible.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and will keep you up to date with additional information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your understanding,

Full Tilt Poker

The law was passed and the sites circumvented to keep their business going so they did skirt the law but what horrible crime is being comitted here? Who is getting hurt? Were there millions of dollars stolen? Are people in danger without this law? Do you sleep better at night knowing that the UIGEA is in effect? As the PPA says, poker is not a crime.
Should be just as mad at the law now as we were a few months ago. I don't blame the DOJ for the creation of such a horrible law.

So how are we supposed to decide which laws to enforce and which ones not to? It becomes complete judgement by those who's job it is to enforce and by having the power to decide which laws to and not to enforce it gives the executive branch more power than they were meant to have, or should have.

Educate me since I don't seem to understand what you are getting at and you haven't offered any sort of explanation of what you are thinking or argument for why you think that.

This pretty much sums it up.

BTW, I recently saw a documentary called "INSIDE JOB" and if I were American, I would be troubled about what to do with my money.
Keep it in a bank, under the mattress or just burn it!

MAKE A STAND PEOPLE! MAKE A STAND!!!!!!
LOL, Barney Frank, the man who caused the mortgage crisis and financial meltdown by insisting that everyone should be given low-interest loans so they could own a home, is calling for an investigation. This has to be a level.

What nobody has really commented on is that Australian dude stealing $100M from the online processing sites is a way bigger scandal than what Russ Hamilton did. And of course, the sites didn't tell anybody about it. Actually they did tell someone - the ****ing FBI.

Is there a place-- virtual, like a 'marketplace' where it is appropriate for me to offer up my Tilt money, eg.... 95, 93, 90 cents on the dollar? Somewhere on Two plus Two, Pket5s? anywhere?

peace and thank you~

sorry, if this isn't allowed

Upon further review, it seems there is more to this story. I came across the following article.

I am Camadian, but currently reside in New Zealand. I made an eCheck and Moneybookers test withdrawal on Stars on Saturday and the eCheck money hit my bank account today (slightly slower than the usual one day). Still waiting on the Moneybookers, but it looks as though it is business as usual for non-Americans and that our funds are safe and liquid - just a bit slower on payment processing due to high volume from worried customers. The player volume on Stars only looks to be about 20% reduced and I can't comment on game toughness as I wanted to wait and make sure I can withdraw before I continue to play. Hopefully, when the dust settles Joe Average American will be able to easily deposit into whatever legal sites emerge and the games are plentiful and juicy. This is certainly not the end of online poker, just another notable blip along its constant evolution.

couldn't Obama Pardon these poker CEO's so the sites don't get shut down?

For what its worth today on FOX news they estimated 15 million people in the us play online poker.Sounds a little inflated but im sure its a large number. This thread has gotten like 1.3 million hits? That makes me wonder how many people who have never heard of 2+2 are just out their wandering around in the dark.

This isn't even the most # of posts in NVG ("February High Stakes Thread" beats it by ~2x) or views ("If they never played poker" still has it beat).
