The way things work in Vegas is if what you want is done to your satisfaction, then you tip.
If you want something done pronto, you grease. Club lines, SNGs etc. the greasing should only be initiated by the customer. If the doorman at the club can't let you skip the line, he shouldn't accept the grease, nor should he request it.

Well apparently there is a problem Howard, enough of a problem to get fired over. Corruption like this should never be treated with apathy. Good job by the Rio for responding so briskly.

Floorman: Young man, I hear you and your friends are stealing pots. But you don't even send a dress to my house. No respect! You know I've got three daughters. This is my neighborhood. You and your friends should show me some respect. You should let me wet my beak a little. I hear you and your friends cleared $600 each at the 2/5 NL game. Give me $200 each, for your own protection. And I'll forget the insult. You young punks have to learn to respect a man like me! Otherwise the gaming commision will come to your house. And your family will be ruined. Of course, if I'm wrong about how much you stole, I'll take a little less. And by less, I only mean - a hundred bucks less. Now don't refuse me. Understand, paisan? Understand, paisan?... Tell your friends I don't want a lot. Just enough to wet my beak. Don't be afraid to tell them!

Anyone remember how they ran these a few years back? separate lines for each one, the minute a line had 10 people in it, they were called through and it ran. Much better, here half the time you're looking for some idiot thats walked off etc...

Hey, like I said, I only knew who the guy was. Was it a little weird that I waited an hour while a table that was "already sold" sat empty, with a dealer paid to sit there, yes. Ya know ... I don't want to be the guy that fingered Lou, but he does look like Frasiers Dad.

greasing isn't supposed to be for basic service. You aren't supposed to tip a bartender who refuses to serve you.

Greasing is supposed to be for exceptional service, like if you want to skip a line into a bar or get into a private party or something. Guy deserved to be fired honestly.

For sure, he was cutting into the company's bottom line by effectively raising the price and reducing demand.

Pretty shocking imo, this is in no way a tip and clear extortion, giving someone money to prompt them to do their job isn't the way Vegas works at all. From experience the customer service in Vegas is the best I've ever seen, based on this is why I'm usually more than happy to give generous tips. I draw the line on paying an employee any money before they've provided a service.

If there wasn't a game going and this old codger went out of his way to get players seated and start a game then I'd be more than happy to tip him.

Heading over next week and if this happens I won't bother playing the STTs out of principle, I'll just jump into cash games instead.

Rumor has it that the issue with this employee was not going to be addressed but then PSUMike slipped Seth Palansky a $20.

Spoiler:
and by rumor I mean something I just completely made up right now.

Don't worry - check a few earlier posts. The guy was canned on Monday so it should not be happening again.

Well, unless Lou's son takes his place...
