Thank you so much for this documentary. I thought it was really well made and thanks for putting on the English subtitles.

One thing which struck a mental note with me, was when Alex busted his tournament. He said maybe his girlfriend wanted that as they would be able to go home sooner. Alex says this like a joke, but i sense part of him thinks this for sure. This is how I felt even with a supportive non-playing girlfriend. Poker is such a grind it's untrue! Live MTT poker is one of the most brutal forms of poker. Your exposing yourself to huge variance, long hours, travel and horrible schedules which all take toll on the body. Poker players life is truly not understood by a non-player. Only another player knows this. Poker is a lonely game at the best of times.

Funniest part for me was Seb checking out of the hotel, looking for any money he may of left. Pretty funny and balla
Then him saying he was going to basically short stack the 400/800 games with his last $28k haha

GG

There is a difference between doing strategy besides the tables or doing it during the play. I am not even sure how the community would judge sharing reads of player x, who is the mark, within a group of players who hunt him.

This movie reminds me of the WSOP final table when Jacobsen went to his rail and Scott Seiver was obviously coaching him about timing or body tells he picked up on his opponents.
Well, yes, of course, but in the mean time, if they increase the ev by playing the 2 of them on one account, they also certainly drastically decrease their individual ev by having to share the earnings. So in the long run, it's probably not really worth it.
As you mention, it probably is worth it for the final table of a big mtt, but not in cash game, right?

This being said, you raise a good point, I think it is forbidden to share hand histories, right? And technically, it is very similar to share reads on players. But how can it be avoided?
If you are a grinder and actually talking about poker with other regs, how can it not end talking about spots involving players that you know and against whom you will play?

Anyway, there clearly is nothing illegal in what they do, and they never hid that they were friends and that they once were living together. I think that some high stakes player even refused to play them for that reason, but it was no secret at all. So players who see this as an unbeatable edge can always decide to avoid them!

I don't know any french people. But I still have some stereotypes:

#1 French people can't speak english

#2 They are rude

Number 2 fits very well to that Gus Hansen thing. If they are not friends that was just very arrogant behaviour.. Shame on you..

Otherwise document was very good!

In 2m2m, whitelime, who was my coach, was not allowed to comment on my play during the hands. However, that doesn't mean I was not having a huge edge against other players during those coaching sessions because even after the hand has played out he was able to give me thoughts on my opponents play and share what tendencies he picked up on. At that time sweating through teamviewer or even taking control over someones computer through software and big poker houses were not a big issue.

.
You're a ****ing hypocrite. So you're basically saying you did the exact same thing but it was at a time it was "accepted" (This is not even true, there was already a lot of talk about that in that period)

Of course it give them more edge, but do you know any HS player that is not part of a crew, poker house, staking group, etc... They aren't many.

This.

Insyder is bull****ting them for watching each other's screen on a "special setting" : playing together because they re filmed, a thing they probably (until proven wrong) don't do regularly since they don't live together.
Yet in the same message says 5 years ago you could use teamviewer to play on someone else's computer (= using someone else account/multi accounting/account sharing).

If you use that logic you could say in the 1800s using a gun to threaten/kill your opponents gave you an edge at poker and no one would give a **** about this thing LOL.

Really enjoyed this doco, the production was great and it flowed well.
But..
You guys come off cocky as hell but I guess you need to be to play nosebleed. Gus copped a lot of **** throughout, it would be interesting to hear his thoughts on this.. Even though he is a 'pro' its still offensive and bad etiquette to be flat out laughing at him on film for losing money to you.
The interview with gus just came off rude as he was obviously being asked questions to prompt him to talk about his losses to you guys. he actually looked quite embarrassed and awkward as anyone would.

strange i didnt get that at all, thought it funny as hell calling Gus a big fish as well as Niki Jedlicka, who most of us consider to be elite, goes to show how far ahead of the curve they are

I don't know many Americans , but your post seems to fit certain stereotypes.

# 1 Americans expect everyone else to speak english because they are too lazy to learn any foreign language .

#2 Americans are judgmental arrogant and ignorant

Shame on you; otherwise your post was very good

nice work being a grammar/spelling nit before trying to make the exact same point of the person you quoted

it's not rude, it's normal journalism. it'd be rude if the maker didn't ask the questions and give Gus the opportunity to defend himself, or just: speak for himself, after Alex and Seb had done that the whole time.

You're right I was in agreement with the poster I quoted , only i found it funny he made a simple grammatical error when questioning someone about language skills.

The whole point of the post was disgust about the unfair assertion that Alex and Seb were both stereotypical french guys who are rude and don't speak english. The part about being rude is open to debate but the part about them not speaking english is absurd as this was a french documentary made for a french speaking audience and when they are around english speakers they both do speak fairly fluent english.
