Incoming class action against whoever it was that manufactured his Valium prescription, along with the inevitable case against MGM. I’d be mildly surprised if cases aren’t already filed.

The MGM says it will donate 3 million to the victims but will probably pay many times more than that to settle this incident.

3million seems like such a paltry sum. Probably the amount of money Paddock lost in Vegas casinos.

I cannot imagine it a coincident his father was arrested after a shoot out (~50 years ago) only a few miles from where the MB sits now. He lost his father at the age of 7 in Las Vegas and in his psychopathy he is getting revenge.

That last interview with his brother was interesting.. There is clearly a disconnect. I know people say and behave strange after a tragedy, but this is just too little empathy for the victims, and he shows anger, disdain and annoyance at others but not his brother.

I'd planned to be in Vegas this weekend but just could not make the trip. I've talked to several people living there and everyone describes it as somber, like the stench of something very bad lingers in the air. We took that care-free city for granted for a very long time and luck did catch up.

What exactly did MGM do wrong? I am sure plaintiffs class lawyers will come up with some theory, such as failing to notice Paddock had guns in his room. But I don’t see MGM as being at fault here, at least not on the current record.

Let's not over look that the MB will likely be demolished eventually and will suffer financially until that day. I am never one to defend Casino's but this will have a very big negative impact on that property and Vegas as a whole, for quite some time.

There is not a single property on the strip that would have prevented this. I have already written in the previous thread about my experiences with trade shows in Vegas and it not being strange at all to bring 12-15 suitcases up to a suite. It happens everyday.

last year we setup a temporary office/showroom at strip hotel and did not allow made service for ~12 days. and again, this is not out of ordinary..

Very good points given the previous environment. I can see a future of setting up certain entrances to be used if you are bringing in any luggage or bags and they get x-rayed.

Phone charger found in Paddock's hotel room that doesn't match his phones

Wouldn't putting bulletproof/unbreakable windows in be a cheaper solution? I know that's not cheap either, but it's a one time cost vs having to have to pay security teams indefinitely. And it's also much less inconvenient for guests.

Also someone accessed his room with keycard while his car was out of the garage.

From the article:
Quote:
59 people were killed and at least 4527 injured
A+ proofing. Also, right above the picture, it says 58 people were killed.

I agree, although I'm reminded of the press conference a few days ago when the LVPD sheriff was asked by a reporter if he thought the outcome might have been different if hotel staff had noticed the shooter bringing up so much luggage to his room. His response was something to the effect of "yes, it would have been nice if the staff had noticed that".

The sheriff was just asked if someone had accessed the room with a keycard while his car was out and the answer was that he was "not aware of that information, no."

My comment was based on the article posted by Sootedpowa. Garage records contradict the sheriff.

Of course it would have been, but that feels like 20:20 hindsight.

I take it you haven't seen the garage records directly to definitively say that they contradict the sheriff.

I think what you meant to say was "some trashy gossip rag who's other stories are 'Student ditches law degree to become hardcore PORN STAR' and '‘My p***y, my copyright’: Artist SPREADS LEGS in shocking stunt in front of Mona Lisa' claims there are garage records that contradicts the sheriff.

It was with one of his keycards though. mcb just omitted "his" in his post by accident.
