You feel that mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, and brothers should be in a cage and punished for the rest of their lives there after for a lifestyle choice. This disgusting practice of locking up non violent offenders destroys the family unit, America, and the world. You are simply covering your rear end from the backlash you deserve by saying you don't want to see them convicted. I would add to that, that the appalling number of people getting locked up as a result of these misguided policies represent only a small fraction of the resulting suffering.
Indeed, the war on drugs is responsible for millions of children and innocent civilians being murdered, raped, and tortured every year. It is responsible for entire countries being ran by drug cartels, causing immense suffering in those countries and drastically lowering quality of life, crushing any hope of economic growth.
I would argue that this immoral war on drugs has caused more suffering than both World Wars combined, and anyone who has ever supported in anyway shape or form the prohibition of drugs is just as culpable for those children being murdered as the drug lord pulling the trigger.
