Before Fulltilt closed I was 4 tabling 100nl rush about 100k hands a month.
Then I opened a Stars account and tryed stacking 50nl. I gave up that months ago, and will play poker again unless Fulltilt comes back, or mybe if Stars gets Rush.

There are other players on 2p2 that aren't from the US ya know?

I don't get why a player would use FTP, there will be no fish since most of them already think online poker is a scam, and with FTP's history they will almost certainly not deposit for a long time. + people that used to play there recreationally will not even realise it's up and running again for a while, they are going to need TV commercials, tons of advertisements + emails telling people they're back, and incentives for people to come back like really good promotions, and its going to take a while before it is what it used to be.

I love the software on FTP, iron man, and the rb, but I personally am sticking with stars until FTP is back to what it used to be.

Wouldn't you assume that anyone who could play real money on the new Full Tilt would be able to play on Stars? It seems crazy that fresh off paying a settlement to the DOJ, FTP2 would offer money in markets where PS does not. Then again, who knows. Maybe there is some "we" blocked by Stars waiting for FT...

Ya the stars guys never understand why we played on FTP. If they'd open up again to US I'd play on FTP again over Stars. Yes, I'd be taking on more risk, but I'd try to play underrolled in case FTP scams everyone again. I just really like the FTP cash/MTT variety, and the interface.

can someone explain to me why a bunch of people think FTP's history is a reflection of FTP2's future?

to the people who are die-hard against FTP because "lol how can you trust them", yeah, i agree with this. they are being nits.

but I do really hope they also replace a lot of the working staff too, namely the "customer service" people and basically anyone who knew about the shady **** (shortfall, etc) and didn't have a problem with it.

At the least I hope they put in a new management team that will not let anyone **** up.
I have some faith in this because I assume GBT will try to make sure there are no slips being made public.

Lessons to learn from this disaster for me, and probably many others.

1. Don't put all your eggs or too many of them in one basket.

2. Don't count those eggs as chickens before they hatch especially if you keep them mostly in one basket which might disappear for whatever reason.

3. Rollercoasters suck.

If this is directed at me, I don't think this at all, however fish already think online poker sites are trying to rig the games and scam them, if they have played on FT before and lost some money or seen it get shutdown then they won't trust the site, so FT is going to need a huge new player pool, which is gonna be hard to find when almost everyone that's going to sign up is going to see FT's history.

I actually would strongly consider a move if FT becomes what it used to be, the MTT structure, rush, rb, iron man, and the software are all really good and stars can't offer the same things but stars has a lot of positives too, I just don't see a large player pool going back to FT for a while until the site is offering really good promotions and its been up and running for a while.

It isn't the vote that is taking the time. They are negotiating. The two-week estimate, which is now up, was an optimistic estimate. Negotiations could take a couple more days, a couple more weeks and maybe even a couple more months Once the negotiations are complete, the vote will be done quickly.

Relax. Enjoy the Christmas shopping. I wouldn't even begin to worry about the deal unravelling unless we haven't heard anything by mid-January.

Has GBT made any statement about bringing in totally new staff and management. Without that I am not surprised people think history could repeat itself. Need to wipe the slate clean in a situation like this.

Gus is in no way responsible for the way FTP has acted nor has the majority of his wealth been generated from it therefore I feel Gus can do whatever the hell he wants

We all had our hopes up for a deal between FTP-GBT.A lot of people were reporting that it was just a matter of days....even DF said he was confident to hear news by the end of this week.....now it look like the FTP shareholders fooled us again-that's all just very disappointing and sad.

What makes you so sure FTP2 will be so different from FTP1? I know in an ideal world the entire payroll would be replaced, but that's not realistic. Those in Dublin who haven't left will be retained. There will still be the same senior management. (Those without names like Bitar and Burtnick)

You are very trusting if you believe FTP's core staff pool will be replaced just like that.

Also, the keys have just been handed from a group of con-artists (FTP), to a group of cheats. (GBT) Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Reading some people in this thread I see why poker players are perfect for scam victims. Some of you just don't know when you're being bluffed.

so how come that my post has less substance as the ones that said we will hear positive news by Thursday/Friday?
Would you not say that what these people said was unsubstantiated instead?
If so many people were so sure there would be positive news but all we hear is nothing,is it wrong to assume that something got in the way of the deal?Is thinking along those lines garbage?
I would be the first person to be delighted to be wrong, but everybody has to deal with the information we got-which is nothing.

Both the positive and the negative unsubstantiated garbage is garbage. Congratulations on being in the negative camp. Have fun time with NexusWR ^^

Oh, and if there is information, the right thing to do is to say "I don't know", not start making up crap.
