I'd be surprised if "limbo" withdrawals haven't already been credited back to player balances.

Pending isn't Limbo.

I contacted MB for confirmation that my w/d wasn't received, they gladly supplied it, do the same imo.

I'm like 95% sure on this, but I don't think Tapie can just back out on this deal on a whim anymore. To many people have spent to much time and money on this for it to fail.

I know for a fact Jeff has had to fly to and from Dublin several times. I'm sure Tapie and his gang have flown to see the doj a few times.
Guys like them don't waste time and money.

GBT: "soz no deal broski's"

DOJ/FTP: "no dice mf, people have paid out for flights and everyfing, poor mr Ifrah, rwerite?"

GBT: "Oh okays, wer do we sign"?

Hm, ok, but right now the important thing, the next step supposed to happen is the majority vote of FTP1´s (old) shareholders which is somehow independent of (G)BT´s actions?

10 days ago I wouln´t have thought it possible that the EU would deliver faster than FTP1 / GBT. The next week might be interesting for the FTSE, btw

C'mon dude, there might be potential issues/liability regarding bad faith negotiations if he truly backs out "on a whim" but FTP is such a cluster**** that it would be trivial for him to cite a material issue. He has dozens to choose from.

As for plane flights... LOL.

Anyway, the deal will close when it closes, if it closes. What more can anyone say at this point?

Didnt the previous interested investors spend months going through the books before finally pulling out?

The one thing successful business people will do is walk away from a deal if they feel its not right.

I just dont understand the lack of urgency with this deal.

FTP is getting deeper and deeper in the hole with each pasing day.

Yes, I understand these things are complicated but surely a lot of these decisions could be made very quickly.

A lot of people are assuming GBT/Tapie will open up FTP as before.

Whats to stop him moving all the active players to another network such as ongame, Ipoker or Party....... and then selling all the assets of FTP including the software...........
He wouldnt have the hassle/cost of running a poker room infrastructure.

DJRiccco - where does your 'funny feeling' stem from? Is it truely just a random date you've plucked out of the air or is it linked to something?

Surely a shareholder vote does not take this long? if all they needed was a 2/3rds majority it shouldn't have taken this long surely? Unless the owners still think there is value in going through the courts? they can't be that stupid can they?

Starting to think my optimistic view on FTP reopening is actually blind hope due to running 35 buy ins under EV in 42k hands on stars...playing 3 levels below where I used to at FTP and now not being BR'ed correctly lol...I've actually got a part-time job...FTP better open soon! haha. What's the odds on FTP opening in Jan if this vote goes through before next week? I'm assuming GBT would have already spoken to AGCC and have arrangements to fast-track the license being reinstated...
12-09-2011 , 03:51 PM
So the people with supposed inside knowledge said we should start worrying if there is no news by the weekend.so can we officially worry now?
12-09-2011 , 04:46 PM
All this seems to be turning into is "wait till this day, no wait till this day". It just seems like a never ending road. Sometimes I wish I just played on Pokerstars.
12-09-2011 , 04:57 PM
Now that GBT has cleared the major obstacle with the DOJ it would seem likely that Fulltilt owners would now want to get greater value from the sale.

As Ifrah said in a earlier post, now that the DOJ hurdle has been cleared we can "begin" negotiations.
12-09-2011 , 05:13 PM
Everyone should see where some of the delay could be coming from. Some of the biggest shareholders have federal civil suits pending against them personally. They may be trying to work out a personal deal on their suit and holding their votes hostage. No deal for them from the DOJ than they nix the sale and f*** everyone in the a** even deeper than they already have.

Even if the shareholders voted a week ago, FTP won't be up ASAP, and even when it comes back it will take a while for a player pool to come back, people that don't play seriously aren't even gonna realise FTP is back + when it comes back they won't trust it to put money on there, it's gonna take months of marketing and promotions before it's close to what it used to be so I wouldn't be getting to excited.

Why would you even go back to FTP when you have PS as an option? I mean I love the software and rakeback, but when PS is reliable, has awesome customer support, good software, a huge player pool and doesn't have the history FTP has I don't know why FTP > PS for you..

I don't want to nitpick, because certainly none of us in this situation deserve any ill will. But I'd say there isn't much correlation between a lack of news and worrying. Bad news can = worry. The whole situation can = worry. But really, any worrying is probably a waste of energy. Things seem fairly stable and on schedule as far as this deal going through from what I can gather, and it may be a while before we have any significant breakthroughs with the deal moving forward...

Cause pokerstars play money sucks? Plus we can't play real money there anyways...
