Is this thread now meant for general discussion about the challenge or meant to be only "in running" thread?
FwF is HSNL reg - they had jungle favourite.

I know who he is, but the fact that he bet on jungleman doesn't necessary mean he thinks jm is a favorite. He didn't say he bet with even odds, did he?

For first people made a lot of bets where they got like 1.5:1 for jungle.

I think most had him as favourite that werent friends of tom.

1) Jungle got him last time they played
2) Tom rust factor

I was reading that everyone was saying Tom was down. Did he play another session after that twitter post?

They played a short session where he won 130k, then they took a hour off or something and jungle won ~650k in the second session.

I am not writing Dwan off completely. And I do think there is a bit of truth to the fact that the sample size they have played may not mean a ton in the grand scheme of things.

However, I think some of the people pointing out the sample size, saying it is early, etc., may just be Dwan fanboys/and or people who have bet money on him to win this challenge and are just trying to convince themselves that everything is fine.

While Dwan has been playing a lot of PLO and mixed games as of late, it seems like Jungleman has been playing a heck of a lot more HUNL.

Currently, Jungleman may just be the better player.

Can have ike (moderator) vouch and hold money in escrow, any takers?

I think it does show how hard it is to stay at the top.

Climbing the mountain is hard enough - staying there once you are a bagazillionaire is another.

cates has the jungle hunger - tom not so much.

C) jungle man has watched more DC vids

Oh and by q5 own age I mean the hand where jungle reraised and fired 3 with q5 on 346a3 and durrrr called down with 6x (or something like that)
Pretty much this. If I had to bet I would've put money on Jungleman for the same reasons.

I hope you and other high stakes guys follow the match and blog or talk (aejones pokercast!) about some hands. Would be really interesting to hear analysis from the best players. A few hands in particular that I thought were interesting today (i didn't catch the whole match though).

1) Obv Junglemans A2o
2) Durrrr's 4bet bluff on KQ8rb in 3bet pot
3) Junglemans QJo river bluff shove with busted OESD on a KT6K something.

#2 and #3 stood out because they looked very amateur. #1 was obviously sick, but bluffs always look good when they work.

Wasn't there a bluff by durrrr with QJo in a 3bet pot? Seem to remember durrrr CRAI with missed OESD on the turn and bluffed back door flush.

I'm not qualified to make any kind of credible comment on who is better nor do I care to. However, this is a fun dynamic to think about: Someone touted as the best(with a check coming in despite the result) versus someone on the rise. One really hasnt played competitive HUNL in a public fashion as of late and the other has played pretty much exclusively that.

I'm rooting for durrr for personal reasons, but I don't think you can logically conclude he has the edge. If so, it would be the only competitive profession on the planet where you could not partake in the subject of choice and just crush. It would show there is something about the game an elite player just gets that nobody ever will if you can just own someone cold(who is considered very good). I just don't see PLO tactics and thoughts functioning well to your HUNL game. If you can mentally seperate the two, that is your gift.
