One should also realise that the results of pokerhands are not indepently and not identically distributed random variables. Because they are both world class players that would take immediate advantage from any kind tilt of the other, i can only imagine the swings that we will see.

you need the hand history to find the true variance/standard deviation because those details lie within the pot sizes and the frequency at which they occur.

how did you come up with this sd of 120?

Its a very low sd that might be achievable at 6max or fullring (I think). HU is known to have a much higher sd so you can tell from the graph I posted that the swings are going to be pretty wild over each 5k hand sample.

Neither would have a 10bb/100 edge over the other and I'd imagine the std dev is more than 120 too

Check it out with a 1bb edge over 5k

I mean, the edge could indeed be larger I guess but not 10bb

Even with a larger winrate and at the same std dev, it could go either way over the 50k

Not an expert, but don't you think it's easy to miss the difference between someone raising turn 40% of the time and 60% of the time in the last 2k hands?
