One of the things I've never understood if DB got all his money from his criminal father and not from poker winnings, why does his brother Adam not have the same?
He plays 1k events at the WSOP. I played with him at the 2015 series and had a good chat with him outside on dinner break from the 1k turbo. Really nice guy.

I'm still not totally convinced the stuff about his dad is true. I mean, say what you want but nobody can argue he's not at least reasonably intelligent (comes across so in interviews, is self aware of his image, well spoken etc).

If your dad gave you 50mill of illegal money would you really make up some wild crazy claim and then flaunt it in front of the world including the IRS? The amount of exposure he's had surely the IRS would be investigating him? It's been years and he's still here, so surely they've not found anything?

However, his brother not being over the top baller doesn't mean he also doesn't have a lot of cash. He might just want to be less obvious about it.

investigate him for what?
they want money so he cleans it through poker and pays taxes on it. now he can buy houses cars etc invest and they get their cut. he loves flaunting his money. hard to flaunt money without paying taxes on it.

what's more believable someone actually made 50 mil from poker (lmao) who just happens to be a trust fund baby or the trust fund baby is laundering money?

actually if my dad gave me an absurd amount of money in cash laundering it through poker or some bs business is exactly what i'd do.

his brother renounced his citizenship but still has to pay taxes for 10 years to the us. so if he has hidden money and wants to start flaunting it he'll probably wait until the 10 years is up and then start flaunting it saying he won it that year or has some business where he made it all. and who is to say his brother even wants to flaunt it?

Obviously he's a trust fund baby who didn't make his money playing poker, but it seems likely that he did win $50 million in a session, because I can't see why Haralabos would make that up.

A lot of people seem to think this is how to make the IRS happy so they will not investigate, but for the IRS all one has to do is declare the income; there is even a line on the 1040 form for a person to declare income from other (including illegal) sources.

Pay the tax and the IRS will be happy, although a good laundering may be practical to avoid legal prosecution, but you can put "Heroin sales" and pay the tax and the IRS will thank you and wish you continued success in future years, and legally they cannot actually inform law-enforcement unless a court order exists.

Many people declare illegal goods (usually theft) if they were caught or are about to be caught so that they do not also get charged with tax evasion.

It’s truly amazing how many of you feel the need to come bash a guy that you don’t know on an internet thread to try feel better about your own pathetic boring lives. While you sit stewing in front of your computer he is living his dream life. Get a clue..

The simplest explanation is that your perception of his intelligence is way, way off.

Adam Blizerian renounced his US citizenship in 2007. Bought a house in Nevis and St Kitts.

Not sure what he's up to today.

I really enjoyed his appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast.

Nice islands, good banking laws. Kittian citizenship is not very expensive or hard to acquire.

I would expect that the recently hurricane-ravaged non-US island nations may take notice at $250K US per shot.
