A good player should never take a 65-35 preflop flip against a horrible player. William's chances of beating Scoot by exploiting her obvious and bad play via low-risk play was much greater than 65%. It would be like potripper flipping for his tournament life.

Deep stacked vs a vastly inferior player, I don't think you seek out a 65/35 for your tournament life. And against villain's calling range I am not sure AK is 65/35.

Anyway, gg gm and hope too.

P.S. That PLO broadcast was worst of year by far due to the commentators (Tuchman included).

You can argue that in this specific spot that you shouldn't take the AK spot and maybe you're right, it's probably close. I think that against an opponent playing a style intentionally designed to increase variance with the stacks they had, it's close, but unclear.

However, I still think it's ridiculous to say you should never take a 65-35 vs. an inferior opponent. Depending on your edge, the stack sizes and your opponent's style, it is definitely going to sometimes be correct.

So what do you do if grandma starts open shoving blind? Can't wait for KK+ w/ those blinds. Not positive but I bet getting it in with AK vs grandmas calling a 3bet shove range is better than getting it in with AK vs any random 2.

You just can't gii any better in nlhe when opp is playing that style. Props to grandma though, it's like she knew she was outclassed and picked the best possible strat she could.

Oh yea and congrats to Hope as well. I found that final table to be very interesting(esp everyone adjusting to grandma). Too bad it wasn't on the main ft with commentary.

This is very good work, ty.

Are you getting the entry info from the listed Day 1 players on the WSOP updates site?

There's no reason to "get it in" pre-flop for any scenario against Grandma, AK or otherwise, except perhaps high pairs. And Grandma is not going to make an adjustment and start shoving blind/light; she did shove light a few times but those are easy to fade by just not calling.

You are wrong, passing up on a 65% favorite to double up is a horrible play.

Ya, want to take the strat elsewhere pocket_zeros? Pretty sure no one agrees with you here.

I think the discussion has run its course. Not surprised that only a few agree with me - that roughly correlates to MTT winning player percentage stats.

How many BBs did she get it in for with AK? And what was the pre flop play? Thanks.

Anyone else also slightly surprised by the structure of this One Drop? I mean its a huge high roller with loads of pros, I would guess theyd like to play much deeper than this. Even Koon twittered that it was like a hyper-turbo. Avg is about a million now, so Avg = 25BB and chipleader has about 50BB,which is quite surprising to me.

They've lost 14 of the 46 players in a little more than an hour. It seems like it's going too fast.

One Drop is supposed to stream tonight? I wasn't aware it was a 2-day event. $111K turbo, Degen City...

The pros want a deeper and better structure, the businessmen and amateurs don't. WSOP will cater to the businessmen in these high rollers.

In the last hour there's been tons of flips for whole stacks. It does seem rather odd for 100k.

edit: One drop is streaming after Seniors event finishes.

32BB. Scott had 2,385,000 and Williams 1,637,500 with blinds at 25K/50K/5K. Scott raised to 150K, Williams 3-bet shove 32BB. A replay of the stream can be seen at: http://www.wsop.com/videos/?vid=357. The final hand starts around 9:29:00
