It's an the absolute edge of prime time for the East Coast, yeah.

But since it's being held in Vegas, it is what it is.

Fortunately I don't work so I can stay up as late as I have to in order to watch the whole thing. As soon as that last hand finishes, though, boom! It's bedtime for this old person.

is the WSOPE broadcast during convenient times for Europeans? if it's aired at all?

If it's broadcast live either via TV or streaming it would have to be, but TBH I wasn't followed the WSOP Europe coverage.

When the World Cup gets held, they don't try to schedule the matches to take every other countries time zone into account, and fans get up at all hours of the night to watch their team play. If you are a poker fan, same type of rules apply - if you want to watch you have to bear in mind that it's held in the US.
F1 is a good example of a sport which does take timezones into account. They have a night race in Singapore just so that it's on at a Euro-friendly time. That's only viable as Europe is by far the primary TV market for F1 though.

I'll probably just watch the poker on demand when I get up tomorrow. Espn player ftw.

This AFAIK. I follow sports in general pretty avidly and I don't think F1 is particularly popular over here. Much like soccer.

Which is really too bad, since I enjoy soccer, but most of the best leagues and matches are in Europe and on European time, plus I'd probably need a couple of extra cable channels. Ah well.

As an Englishman I would be royally pissed off if a major sporting event was changed to fit the bill in other countries, stupid idea.

If you cant stay up and watch it, then just watch it back the following day, you WILL be able to avoid the result until you watch it.

I hope to run deep in a live tourney tonight, get home at 3ish, then crack on with the final table, closely followed by me phoning work with an awful embarrassing bowl issue.

How it goes.

this Staszko guy seems to be the most boring person on the planet, lets hope he bust in 3rd

Actually, the last World Cup in South Africa (assuming you are on about football/'soccer' here) had KO times brought back for this very reason. Not that it was for this sole reason, I think advertising had a lot more to do with it (obviously). Buuuut then again, FIFA would never admit to that

But yeah, people should quit bitching. I'm just happy that I'm able to watch it.

Yes, was referring to the soccer World Cup.

IIRC, a couple of the US matches were held at like 11 or 12 in the morning US time, which is certainly not optimal for anyone who is working (I was at the time). People still find ways to watch, though.

Surprising you don't have 100 units to bet.

i'm not a big F1 fan/expert but i think that singapore is just one of the few (if not the o n l y) event in the calendar that takes timezones into consideration and i think its not about being euro-friendly in the first place but for the reason that singapore looks even more impressive by night. on top it makes it a very special event (like monaco) for the whole F1 season imo.

All the people asking about when it starts. It isnt that hard to google and type eastern time. The time comes up .Count how many hours the main event is from that from that time is equal to how long is left.

Plus from there you can see how long behind it is from your time zone so for the next time you dont have to ask.

Also at the bottom of the thread page it says

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:48 PM.

I think thats a bit easier to do than to ask on here then wai maybe 5 minutes for a reply.

LOL. Next, I'm guessing you will be complaining about the Olympics coverage. Stupid.

Is TSN showing the final three tonight for us Canadians?

starts in 8 hrs. it's not a problem to be awake at 3.00 o'clock in the morning (european time, germany). i have to be at university between 8.30 and 10, so the important hands will most likely happen during that period.

i guess there's a chance it will be over sooner or take way longer, but srsly...
