this is making the bad assumption that "social equality" actually exists currently, in order to prioritize one over the other.

They often take great delight in taking something good and then perverting it.

Kind of a weird take, but I guess then you'd be happy to know that Mrs. Butterworth has actually gone nowhere. By the same token, I suppose you might be disappointed to learn her fate was never tied to the Democrats.

The Left literally PROMOTES some types of child abuse. (Note well the various transgender threads.)

I think this post exemplifies WHATABOUTISM quite well, don't y'all?

this is not a system issue, it is an us issue
I find statues to be problematic in general.

I'm fine with the city choosing to remove any offensive statues

What I oppose is an angry mob tearing down statues.

Good.

Maybe I got her confused with a another icon of sickeningly-sweet pancake toppings.

Let's explore this. Are you upset about the rebranding of Aunt Jemima?

Uhhh no. Only dumb conservatives make the argument that syrup mascots changing impact how they think about racism. Non conservatives are expected to be able to ignore Qanon and understand that child abuse is a real problem no matter how dumb Taylor Greene or your average Trump voter sound when they talk about it.

No.

I'm "upset" that the rebranding seemed motivated largely by the ridiculous notion that the "original" Aunt Jemima was somehow not much more than a racist trope.

Until the "mostly peaceful protests" in 2020, I don't recall a great hue and cry over Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben by POC.

I prefer Log Cabin syrup.

(But now that Lincoln is considered a full-blown racist, I see a re-branding of Log Cabin syrup as a possibility in the near future.)

Just to be clear: It's really stupid to have a product name, symbol or mascot that potential customers might find offensive.

Re-naming the Washington Football Team made sense, because for many YEARS there were many who found their nickname offensive.

I see. So when potential customers find a "product name, symbol or mascot offensive", the company needs to tell customers they haven't found it offensive for quite long enough yet, but get back to them in a few more years?

Is this addressed to anyone in particular? I've not seen anyone advocate for this.

Being offended at Uncle Ben's is pretty weak. So is being offended that some "influencer" is being paid to hump Bud Light. So, yes.

Clinging to Antebellum-era slavery tropes seems weak to me. Must we live our lives under the cruel dictates of the Neoconfederate dipshits among us?

In a sense, bud light has always been trans beer so having a trans spokesperson makes a lot of sense.

I of course will be continuing to drink their delicious Clamatos when camping.

I look forward to you complaining that there are no blacks represented in corporate brands. Why are Betty Crocker and the Quaker Oats guy always white?
