Trouble: Online poker web sites seized by the FBI (Stars + Tilt included) Trouble: Online poker web sites seized by the FBI (Stars + Tilt included)

At 6:30 p.m. eastern today both stars and tilt seemed to let me withdraw money, that is the withdrawals went through as normal. Now whether and when I ever see that money is of course another question entirely.

I'm in the USA.

Ok, so if word of mouth gets around that they are still accepting US residents, that alone could increase deposits.

Also, there is a good chance that PS and FT beat the Gambling Charges according to many legal experts. It seems the Bank Fraud and Money Laundering is the major hurdle in these cases. That may not be the case for some of the other smaller sites.

I guess in the end, everything at this point is pure speculation. I think everyone should take a few min. away from 2p2 to send their Senators and whoever, an email. We need to get our opinions out in this very crucial time. I have already sent emails to my Senators.

I'm a UK player took all my roll off Stars a couple of years ago.

I'd lost $2500 in the Tusk debacle; seen Neteller hammered by the DoJ (so took my money out of there) and then with the UIGEA there were just too many red flags to keep a roll on a US facing site.

Been at Will Hill ever since. They might not be as sexy as Stars/FT but my money is 100% safe and I can go into any one of 700 B&M bookies here in the UK and get it over the counter in cash if got some reason my withdraw to bank account doesn't work.

If you're a US online pro then moving to London looks a decent option at the moment. No local taxes on poker income and plenty of B&M and online action with no risk of losing your money.

Just make sure you get your teeth fixed first...

Obviously, if you're a US online poker player and haven't joined the PPA, now would be a real good time to do so.

I was able to access the cashier on PStars and complete an ECheck cashout according to the site. My account balance is showing 0 and the transaction shows up in the transaction history page. I am in CO. Hope I did the right thing

Fwiw I think it's a good idea if they stop withdraws now. Better stop it now, make a public statement, calm people down and hopefully continue.

Should be safe to cash out to Neteller since they don't accept US residents?

Your opinions?

These are the questions that need to be answered. Perhaps a Mod should create a sticky with all available known information?

1. Has anyone received an email from Poker Stars since the news broke?

2. Can American players who move overseas gain access to their money, as was the case in 2006 with Neteller and Party Poker?

3. Are US citizens located overseas still able to access their account and play real money?

4. Has the DOJ stated how many bank accounts it has successfully locked and the amounts inside of those accounts?

5. Are foreign players able to successfully withdraw their funds?

I am really surprised and worried that Stars is waiting this long to make some kind of release. Please let us know how bad this is going to be.

Can't help thinking you would be a bit dumb to assume that because only 3 sites are currently indicted you will be able to carry on playing at a different site.

Assuming you have some kind of due process of law over there in the USA, then it would be a bit bizarre if the authorities were to shut down some sites and let others carry on as normal wouldn't it?

While I am in favour of freedom of choice for people to do what they want with their time/money, I cannot help thinking that the way online poker is currently run is far from ideal from a consumer protection point of view.

They need to start allowing transfers for some people.. Backers, staking deals, coaches, prop bets, ect..

Also we need some method of getting rid of tourney cash, tickets, fpps, bonuses, ect for cash asap..

They need to have our cash balances ready to go for whenever this does get sorted out.
