One thing to look at that no one has really brought up is that in washington DC they have legalized online poker. Although they don't have anything set up yet as far as gaming site. Does anyone think that maybe the DOJ is shuting down these sites inorder to make way for poker in the USA. Think about it get rid of the competion and then you have to play at the USA sites.

I know this is kind of a streach but why not get rid of all of the compition before you open up in the USA. Maybe the realization was coming that poker was going to be coming to the states therefore lets create a way to get people to play at the new sites.

Politicians will do anything to get elected "dumb fact i know" and if they see how strong we are I think we've got a chance. We can begin by setting up a thread for each state creating a centralized meeting point for people to discuss strategy what the next step is. Use facebook, twitter, youtube, anything to get the word out! Complaining about this will not get us anywhere. We need to get organized NOW. Please PM me with any idea's or suggestions. We need to ORGANIZE so get up and do something about this right now.
Uhh, have you heard about the PPA???????

3. From what I've read from other poster(s), yes.

4. According to this article, over 75 bank accounts have been held but the monetary amounts aren't stated. $3 billion is sought in the indictment against the 11 defendants.

If you can't get to the site's website, some functions of the client may not work.

Maybe there is some way to edit your hosts file to override the DNS hijack. Does anyone know the last good IP addresses for the sites?

All I can say is there is NO FREAKING WAY Stars will make all the Sunday Major Guarantees with the entire U.S. Market being shutout, and the same goes for SCOOP as well....LOL the Sunday Million will now be renamed the Sunday 750K.

As mentioned beforen I am not a US citizen.

After a couple of attempts the Stars cashier processed my cash out request. Half the money is already on Neteller, rest is in the usual pipeline ("may take up to 72 hrs").

http://www.tightpoker.com/news/washi...ne-poker-2338/ then this happens....WTF

I think US players are ****ed as far as their stars and full tilt rolls goes but new sites should open up soon. best case scenario is we get our money back in a month or so. I highly doubt any1 that cashed out recently in the US will get their $ even if it says its being processed already

When trying to log onto the Stars client, an update box appears. Click to update, or US govt virus?

Hopefully later this this will eventually be seen as one of the first steps to getting online poker regulated and legalized in the US (and although it's a hell of a pickle this outlook might be especially true if the pokersites are fully open and work with the US government and not against them...if they take steps to push back against the US attorneys I imagine it will only light the fire of their 'holy' crusade even more)...and to be honest I'd like to have a regulated Pstars/Full Tilt software over going back to early days of online poker softwares.

So I don't the seizure message when I pull up the sites and FT still opens for me and everything. I never keep $$ in my account and cashout after every big win, so I just bought into a tourney with 11 of my last $16, and it is running fine. Should I expect to get disconnected at some point and then not be able to play anymore? I am in Nevada.

Also, last monday, I was at a meeting with some gaming attorneys here in Las Vegas. Tony Cabot, well know gaming lawyer from Lewis & Roca, LLP, made kind of a cryptic comment warning me about playing online but wouldn't expound any further. So my guess is that this has been in the works for awhile and that he was tipped off at some point.

Me to. I tried to contact them earlier by email asking what's going on, but have yet to receive a response. Even a form letter response would be better than nothing. If I don't get an update by the morning, I am going to hunt down a phone number and start calling.

This is what happens when conservatives make decisions they think are best for you. LOL Telling us what to do and how we can or can't spend our money. What a bunch of hypocrites.

Long-time reader, figured i'd chime in on the big news today.

First, I don't like the precedent being set, that is, the government can just come in and shut down access to specific content. I've seen this happening a lot lately, and I don't like it. Makes me think I'm living in China or some other country where freedoms aren't as heralded.

Second, good and finally! These companies have been operating outside the law for a long time now. And while i'm not expressing my opinion on whether the gambling laws are right or even apply here, I have to say I'm glad this happened. This forum is LITTERED w/ problems relating to Pokerstars and Fulltilt confiscating money and treating its customers like dirt. Why? B/c, by default they have an enormous market presence due to compliance by the other major players (i.e. Partypoker). Pokerstars have been treating their players like dirt because they KNEW they could. I am empathetic to those who have money tied up, but, as for the sites themselves, well deserved.

The major winners in this are sites such as Party Poker. They were the big players before the laws took effect and i think by complying have demonstrated they can operate w/in a regulated framework. The sites that exited had great customer service, were honest, accountable (to some extent), and in my opinion, were what made online poker great. Hopefully, at some level, online poker will be regulated. But, for the time being, let us rejoice.

Looks like they are allowing only the US players to make withdrawals right now. It's a smart move, IMO. But a statement is needed ASAP, cause everybody is FREAKIN OUT!
