  4. The White House also announced that President Obama will answer questions submitted by the American people at a post-State of the Union interview on January 30th. The deadline to submit questions is January 28th at midnight ET, so let’s all vote up questions in support of licensing online poker now!

To participate, simply go to the White House YouTube page HERE. Be sure to log into to your YouTube account (or easily create one). Under “About”, enter the word "Poker" into the search field and hit search (see the screenshot below). Look for the video post by John Pappas and hit the thumbs up.

    .
  5. Let's send a prefilled tweet promoting today's action plan HERE.
Please reply in this thread with "tweeted", "done", etc. to encourage others to participate. The past 134 actions have generated triple-digit participation, so let's keep it growing. Thanks!

--------------------

If you wish to do more today, let's reach out to the entire Senate Indian Affairs Committee membership via Facebook with respectful requests for them to support poker at the 2/9 hearing. Simply like the pro-poker posts and make a supportive post of your own. When commenting on preexisting lawmaker posts, please be sure the post is appropriate for pro-poker comments.

PC World rates poker social networking effort "effective"!

http://www.pcworld.com/printable/art...printable.html

Quote:
Online Poker Lobby: 2006-Present

Lovers of games such as Texas Hold 'Em, Seven Card Stud, and Five Card Draw have been active in recent years trying to ensure that Congress doesn't outlaw online versions of poker in the United States. At the forefront of the movement is the Poker Players Alliance, an online poker advocacy organization claiming more than 1 million members. Since at least 2006, when President George Bush signed a law banning online wagering, the PPA has encouraged American poker players to fight for their right to use the Web to bluff their way to a $5 pot.

The efforts of the PPA and other pro-poker advocates appear to be paying off. Recently, the Department of Justice said that online poker does not violate the Federal Wire Act, which prohibits interstate and foreign betting on sporting events and contests.

Clicktotweet.com is still down. I tried Clicktotweet.me earlier today but got autoblocked for "spamming" (hard to believe...multiple similar tweets all mentioning online poker ). Anyway, I emailed them per their instructions, expecting no response. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a prompt reply indicating that they took care of it for me.

I then found I could use it only for 132 characters, rather than 140. I emailed them with this. They replied that they fixed it for me and thanked me for letting them know. Needless to say, I'm pleasantly surprised by their service.

So, I updated today's action plan with the new links...we're good to go.
